I don't have a problem downloading from my private sites, but it takes me a long time to get a good ratio by uploading the torrents. At my mom's house I can get uploading speeds from 250-400 kB/s which I think is really good. At my house I would be lucky to get a speed from 100-150 kB/s(usually 110 kB/s). Both houses have Comcast cable internet. What settings should I use to get my maximum uploading speeds? I am using Utorrent 1.7.7
Thanks

cable works different from adsl, or other systems, cable speed can be divided by a street, so if you see there are a good bunch of leechers for a few seeders and u cant speed up your upload, thats probably cable on you house thats causin the trouble

change ISP with the best one in your area or get a seedbox like others

When you say your getting 110kb/s are you only trying to seed back 1 torrent file or are there others running in your client as well? If there are, then your total up speed would be divided between the amount of other files you may be seeding and/or downloading.

Although they are the same company, are you sure they are on the same speed line/plan etc?

And 110kb/s is too slow for me as well.

Is your mother's house closer to the exchange?

Do you get these different speeds using the same system?

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner :yup:

Comcast offers two different speed packages for internet. After their recent doubling of upload speeds, the lesser package gets 90-110kB/s and the upper package gets 180-240kB/s.

So, call and upgrade to get the faster speed :) Its $10 more per month. Beware comcast always has its customers on bullshit bundle packages and 6 month promotions, and often calling to ask the time of day can turn into a clusterfuck, let alone actually making an account change.

But, if I had to bet I'd say the two locations have different speed internet packages.
