basically it's similar to the best of 2002's products, but it's the worst of 2003's products. if that's garbage to you, okay. if it's not garbage to you, okay. "garbage" is open to interpretation. it costs less than $100 USD. you get what you pay for.

it works 4 most games today. doom 3 might not work that well, but at least it runs. my new comp has a gforce fx 5200. i'll be receiving it in 2 weeks. i might post an update on it after i receive it. but a fx 5200 plays most games, jedi academy would work well on it. vice city obvisouly. unreal tournament 2k3 would work well. not sure about 2k4, but 2k3 works well on it. it's good 4 the money. if u want extreme gaming, try better ones, but it's good for now. read my other topic in the game section.

are you asking if the video card will work well in that setup or if half life 2 will work well?

if it's the video card, then yeah, it'll work pretty well

if it's half life 2, it'll work, but not very good performance at higher resolutions or detail levels

that setup should run most current games at a decent level of quality and framerate

however, in the future you may want to upgrade that video card, if you decide you want more performance

the rest of the system is very good though, from what is shown

if you mean which is faster, then the ti4200 is faster

though the fx5200 has full dx9 support

the ti4200 isn't designed as a dx9 board (largely due to the fact dx9 wasn't available when it was developed)

the fx series is fully dx9 compliant

it doesn't mean a whole lot to the casual user, but for a gamer, the dx9 based cards would be recommended. they simply look better (and should perform better) on dx9 based games

So a FX5200 would be worth a 20-30 dollar jump? =\.. my MSI fx5200 was only 85 bucks came with games.. etc.. and a remote control! anyways back to the question, So would the price gap really be worth it for a FX5600?

for a gamer, yes, no question
