That's the reason I posted this thread Shad0w ;)

To have a http://members.roadfly.com/tite-wad/bpoke.gif at balamm for locking yours.

The big eye in the sky knows much that you do not though. It's not a good subject right now for a variety of reasons.

I think for this kinda post when you close it you dont leave a reszson thats why people get mad. I dont mean that you need to leave a reson for every post. Just one that like that that do.

@ balamm - I understand that the subject is somewhat sensitive-especially right now, but Shad0w's thread wasn't really pro-hacking. Perhaps you were just being cautiously preemptive, fearing that it would draw unwanted replies.

@ Shad0w - he did state a reason... though maybe not a terribly clear one. ;)

I know a company who had their computers broken into. Despite all the security measures, they got in and stole the processors and the memory, even though the cases were locked. Can't talk about it here cos I suspect they used HACKsaws.

Reason Balamm didnt close this right away:

Shad0w_hacker talking about hacking

vs.

Titey talking about hacking

See the difference?

Hmm... a friend of mine is into hacking... he explained to me that HACKERS arent evil, its the CRACKERS that are.
The diff, he said, is that a hacker hacks into a system, checks it for errors, and report the glitch that allowed him in, plus any others to the owner of the system.
A cracker is a hacker that hacks into a system to destroy it, of to leave a virus...
I know if some dude got into me comp, and left me instructions on how to fix that error, I would thank the fellow. If he wanted any of my files, he would be free to copy them onto his own system.

1. We already said that hacking discussions arent allowed

2. i'm not sure bout hackers and crackers but they are
normally referred to as BLACK HAT and WHITE HAT
Hackers.

3. I seriously dont think that a hacker that would spend
time to get into your computer would just leave you instructions
on how to prevent it from happening.

What are they gonna do?
Put a wallpaper up that says "GET A F*CKING FIREWALL"?

Most large companies do have firewalls... If you ran a large company with lotsa things on comp, wouldnt you be glad to get instructions on how to patch up an error in it...?
