Maybe you did not turn AVG off when you installed... I just upgraded this morning and have the comp and cd little icons .... Perhaps its just that

I have the same thing but I'm not bothered as it doesn't seem to affect anything.

Probably just AVG having a bad file association.

Download Tweak UI (http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp), once youhave installed it it is another icon in the control panell. If oyu open it and go to repair it will have a function called repair icons. This should do it.
At least this allways worked for me.

Those are all your updates for windows that you installed they should only be shown in the add/remove programs section though.

I dont fool with avg so I cant elaborate anymore than that.

In my opnion avg is not one of the best antivirus software outr there and that goes for the free and pro versions of avg.

You can do better. ;)

I do not know a great deal about anti-virus software or AVG in general, however, I do believe that Microsoft does recommend disabling anti-virus software for a majority of windows updates. Though if the problem is limited to no more than fooling around with a few system icons then repairing/rebuilding the cache should clear the problem.

Yes ,i can do better but Norton eat too much resources ,last time when i tried Norton Corporate i found some problems, for NOD32 must have passwords for the updates every month,Avast in my opinion sucks,McAfee don't find the viruses.I think i build my own Antivirus soon ---ShAntivirus Corporate Edition---sounds nice?
