Do you guys think a 2002 Honda CRV has the power (without ripping out the transmission) to pull 2x 795 pound jet skis on a jet ski trailer?

I'm sure it can pull one jetskil on a single rail trailer, just don't know about two.

It would likely depend on if the have a receiver hitch bolted or welded to your frame, or if you were using a ball on the bumper.

Looking at the spec sheet for that year, the towing capacity is 1500 pounds. That's a tad under the 2 jet-skis weight, but don't forget about the trailer weight as well.

I wouldn't do it.

If you decide to, make certain you're using a receiver hitch or you'll likely lose your bumper and jet-skis.

Your max towing capacity is 1500lbs. according to Honda.
This would include the weight of the trailer itself, so it would seem that two 800lb. jet skis PLUS the trailer would exceed Honda's specs.

European and Australian towing capacity for a Honda CR-V of that age with the 2.2 litre diesel engine is 1500kg, not 1500lb, well in excess of the load you are considering. Current models have a maximum towing limit of 2000kg.

Assuming you've got a petrol engine the capacity would be reduced a little, but not by much. You certainly won't be ripping out the gearbox though.

Maybe you have some strange restrictions over there, but that's understandable if you are allowed to fasten a towing ball to the bumper. :noes:
BTW, the limit quoted for USA is 1500lbs, don't want to mislead you there.

Thanks for the quick response!

Yeah, my trailer hitch is bolted and not welded.

I thought that the 800 pound + trailer weight would be too much for that car. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
