first off, i hope this is the right forum, second, i know theres already been asked alot, but nothing i found so far(which isnt much) has helped me, all i can surmise is it may just be memory or ram or something. anyway, heres my situation

watching: anime-keeps fansub of dragon drive up to ep 18(on 08)
player: vlc, or video lan, whatever its called
audio and video: far as i can tell, fully synched
problem: every so often, sometimes every few second, the picture freezes, when this happens, i hit space bar(puase) for a few seconds, then hit it again and the picture catches back up. then, it either fin for a little while, or for a few seconds, then the pic freezes and i have to hit spacebar all over again.

other comments: ive closed everything i can, even done a disk cleanup, so im not so sure its happening cuase too many programs are up.

sorry for any spelling mistakes, but im in a hurry

Just follow theses Sixteen steps:

1.) open the file with VirtualDub
2.) hit 'video' on the upper panel
3.) choose 'direct stream copy'
4.) hit the 'trackbar' and wind forward close to the X:xx min/sec where the file freezes
5.) use the arrows on your keyboard to wind slowly forward and
6.) monitor the status bar at the bottom closely to
7.) notice, when VD alerts you with an error (unspez. error -100 or similar)
8.) now, you have to figure out which frame is the first to cause this error
9.) found it ? okay, hit 'edit' and choose 'set selection start'
10.) move the 'trackbar' to the last frame that refuses to play
11.) hit 'edit' and choose 'set selection end'
12.) select 'edit' and 'delete frames'
13.) wind forward to retrieve the next freezing frames and repeat the steps
as described before; if there are no more errors occurring,
14.) hit 'file' and select 'save as AVI ...'
15.) give it a dirty name, elect a directory and
16.) enjoy your working movie ;o)
