Sprocket doesn't believe in steroid use.
Recreational drug use is fine though.

It is a pretty machine, isn't it?

Quite.

I'm far too lazy to maintain it that way though. It would need to be a refrigerated type, sealed enclosure.

I've never cleaned out the dust/cobwebs from a PC. Ever.

That's your basic Lian-li v1200.
Wonderful sidepanels (and retention system) but the chassis is flimsy as hell.

Outside of polishing the midplate the case looks stock, so assembly should be quite straightforward. Figure one day, excluding the wiring.

Aquacomputer stuff is hella expensive and the Aquero monitor/control unit is fiendishly complicated to set up, so it was certainly in the $2-4K range.

Well yeah, it is.
The big problem is the speed at which the hardware changes.
If you could confidently assume that you'd keep the same basic hardware for say, four years, then the cost would be high but (somewhat) justifiable.

Obviously, at the high end, this is not the case and all those waterblocks are completely unique to a given application.
So, not only are you replacing the motherboard (which has gotten extremely pricey) but all the watercooling as well.
The CPU block will probably still be usable but everything else will have to go.

Gotta pay to play.

hmmm indeed, shame that computer technology is moving faster and faster. Im glas that AMD havent really replaced the AM2 chip yet though they have brought out some F dock or drive thing.
