Ahhh 8bit Color!

my icons are all 8bit color and yet the rest of my windows is 32bit color? it doesnt seem to want to apply to the icons... any ideas? i've restarted 4 times...

You can try Tweak UI (http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/Networking/NTTweakUI.asp), once you have downloaded and installed it it is a new sicon in the control pannel. Tweak UI has a function to restore icons. I dont though if this help in your case.

Ya you can download microangelo and it has features to rebuild icon cache and remove damaged icons, that could be your problem.

They have a bunch of copy's of microangelo 5.5 on kazaa. It is also loaded with a bunch of cool functions.
