Why do folks pay for a access to a news server? You can use your ISP's server or torrents for free. But I and alot of others think that the pay option is worth it. You aren't necessarily an idiot if you pay for something that you think has a value.

I already said that I don't know what the big deal is with Newzbin but I have been a paying member for several years, and as I mentioned I don't use newzbin as much as I used to but its still nice to have.

I can absolutely see your point but the problem is that invites to newzbin is a bit harder to get than gmail invites was. I only know one guy with an account there and what I understand you have to be a paying member for a while to get invites. Then what better place to try out our luck than here, at FileSharing Talk? :) I hope someone here can trust a newcomer anyway.

I don't see what the big deal about invites to this site are, but if you need proof I have had accounts at SCT, and Bitmetv with a good ratio, but they were deleted for inactivity. I still have accounts at What.cd, torrentleech, torrent damage, blackcats-games, xboxsky and demonoid all in good standing.

But with usenet... you can't really go wrong because theres no ratio so yeah an invite would be apprectiated.

Seriously people, Newzbin is not some incredible utopia. It's basically the same as every other site that indexes newsgroups. The biggest difference between Newzbin and others is that staff members on there review a small portion of the raw usenet content and make detailed reports. This basically allows you to see a more detailed description of what you're downloading.

You have to pay £2.40 every 8 weeks for premium access, which allows you to download NZB files. These are files you can download on Newzleech or most other indexing sites for free.

It's silly that people here are exerting enough effort to get an invite--just look at the guy who created an account for this purpose--when there's not much that is too special about the site.

If you want extensive screenshots, etc. of Newzbin (for whatever reason) just PM me and I'll show you. I hope this will prove to you that the site is not as amazing as you think it is. Again, it's just another indexing site.

I don't know about others, but the reason most people don't want to post emails is because there are search engines that spammers use to search forums like this for addresses. Once they get your email address be prepared for the spam to reach epic proportions.

Heyo, I've been trying out usenet and have really liked I've seen. I set up a sabnzbd (http://www.sabnzbd.org) server and it has great integration with www.newzbin.com, unfortunately I don't have a newzbin account!

They haven't even had invites for 19 months. Not even close.

They certainly aren't so tough to come by that you would be looking for 19 months even if they did.

If I had to guess, I'd wager you don't even have a new server, but you just saw the word "invite" and posted. :pinch:
