"ripped"?

Here's another stupid noob question for you guys. What does "ripped" mean? I've seen a few games in the verified section saying this. Does this mean anything special or is it just another way of saying image? I promise I'm almost done with the stupid questions ;)

This is truly a noob question and it's kinda of common sense but "ripped" is when someone takes certain parts off a game cd that are need and leave of movie's and other stuff to make the file size smaller for 56k users.
