What are we talking about first of all?

A lot of things have a service pack 1.

Is it XP or office XP? ? ? ? ?

Depending on the PC, 15 minutes to a half hour maybe. If you had to download and then upgrade, could be a lot longer and some times windows update won't finish it. You have to restart the PC to finish.. You're better off downloading it from the download center and installing from desktop.

It could be. If you have a 2gig processor, the whole thing shouldn't take more than about 15-20 minutes.

Yeah, I'm on 2.0GHz P4 256MB RAM, and it took 15 minutes, but I couldn't use the PC because it uses all of the system resources. But according to Add/Remove Programs I have about a dozen SP2 updates.
