Hi,
Until June 23rd I used the roadrunner packaged newsgroup service. Since it has been discontinued, are there any other ways to get newsgroup access for free?

Not likely that someone will share that info with you since it will lead to decreased speeds and maybe shut down if more people join in.

There isn't many of them anyway so I think you should consider paying for access. It's not that much money.

My ISP will give you 10gb a month free binary access (giganews mirror). You just have to pay a little extra each month ($6) for full access :)

Well thanks for the comments. I guess I'll use Google's free client to read text only, and figure it out from there.

I've tried those free stuffs before and they were giving slow speed with something like 0.01kb/s! You should look elsewhere.

If you're interested in text groups you can also use a free server such as: Aioe.org - nntp.aioe.org Mixmin.net - drooper.mixmin.net (Posting allowed only through TLS or SSL encrypted connections) This way you can use a normal newsreader rather than going through Google's website. They do not provide you access to binary groups though.
