The New Board Is Kind Of Slow

This board is very fast and I dispute anyone indicating otherwise. Incidentally what do the members think of the recent sinking of the Titanic?

i realize they are tweaking the server for optimum performance, it is running a little quicker

zooming for me lately also, faster than ever, the pages seem to load diffferently than before - i see the page before the progress bar is at full

i've noticed the speed is a little inconsisent, i saw one of them HTTP 500's earlier, and i also saw an ad replaced with SERVER ERROR

All icebergs should be banned to the temporary forum, that's what I think. As far as this forum is concerned, it's going fast for me.

Maybe you got errors while i did reboot the server but normally it should run fine now the memory usage is pretty good right now and i didnt had to reboot since the ram update.

(Before i had to restart apache every 10 minutes to keep the board up and running which is no fun at all - must suck to have a job as rebooter) :)

thanx darker for everything you are doing to try to help this board, it is running fast now, although sometimes I get and error when accessing, just have to refresh a couple of times, running good tho

What kind of error do you get ? WOuld be nice to get a screenshot to see the problem :)

Maybe you get cached sites - try to delete your temp internet files and cookies then login again and there should be no problem normally.

If you get that error again just post what it says

oh btw i cant do anything about software problems - thats a Invisionboard thing - has nothing to do with the server :)

IB is nice but it cant handle much traffic (same goes for the most forums cause they do way too much mysql queries and slow everything down) The best example is the

[ Script Execution time: 0.2853 ] [ 13 queries used ] [ GZIP Disabled ]

line - such stuff is pretty much just wasting of resources but oh well most boards are not busy so people don't complain :D

Its time for a optimized forum - somebody code one ! ;)

I think the forum software has some troubles to handle all that traffic so it could be that some tables need to be repaired.

I guess VB will have a look later today - i dont do the software stuff i just look that the server is able to handle the load which looks very good right now

Praise where praise is due. Last night I had to close down because I was getting nowhere on the Forum, it kept seizing up. This morning it is going fantastic and is a lot faster than the old Forum. :rolleyes:

All the problems of the past appear to be blessings in disguise. Well worth the time in the temporary forum.
