Are we gonna get this every year?

Do we get Auschwitz threads every year?

Don't mean to be harsh but atrocities happen every day in life.

If we were to commemorate them all, we'd have fuck else to talk about.

I was at the car wash today and was asking some fellow I was chatting with if I had missed something in the news today... I was wondering why every flag in town was at half staff. Had someone died and I hadn't been made aware yet?

Nope. Today is the anniversary of 9/11.

I seemed to have forgotten the "Never forget" slogan. :pinch:

I think its alright for the first few years. I know it's still tough for a lot of folks here in the USA, but once the memorial is complete, I think we can stop "remembering" that day as a National Day of Mourning.

I just think the 'psychic fallout' of that day is incredible.

I come from a city which was heavily bombed through my childhood. There were limbs coming through the window, so to speak, yet the only bomb attack which is commemorated on a universal basis is the Omagh Bomb. Others are mourned by varying sections of the community.

Anyway, better stop. Wopped.

I have actually spoken of the folly of the American date system, perhaps now you will all believe me :snooty:
