View Full Version : Lossless Tracker Advice

I have been using stmusic and I see quite a bit of hiphop and electronica in .flac format, but I don't see much indie rock, classic rock, acoustic rock, blues, or jazz in .flac format. I also don't see many rips that have log, .cue, and playlist files (or that specify they used EAC with the correct presets!).

Does Indie Torrents have albums in .flac format? Do they have high standards for their rips?

I know that Pedro's has high standards, but do they have a good selection of indie rock, classic rock, acoustic rock, blues, or jazz?

Does anyone have any advice on another tracker?

Are there any trackers with a good selection of vinyl rips?

E**** is the flac tracker.

Proove that you are an hardcore music guy and you will get in.

PS: Sorry E**** for using your complete name, but well if I used E**** instead it would make no sense for him.

PS2: Ok, great. The guy will now be confused.

Thanks for the response.

I have looked into E****, but most the posts discuss how difficult it is to get into this tracker.

Is there someone I can privately contact about the requirements, or will they find me?

Are there alternatives who are open for new people?

I posted in the music forum requesting help for improving vinyl ripping. Is there a vinyl ripping tracke?

For vinyl ripping advice, I would ask the question in a music production forum.

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/ is a good one.

you could also try http://www.djforums.com/forums/

they have a recording section on dj forums.

Pedros is what you want.

Not much indie, maybe a little.. but metric shit-tons of everything else on your list.

Very lame. But it's still my favorite music site regardless. Excellent standards, great content, and it's easy to seed.

Pedro's is good for classic rock, but it doesn't necessarily excel in many other genres.
Waffles and/or What is what you want for all those genres though - they're much better than STM.

As previously stated, IndieTorrents does not allow any FLAC, (they want you to support the independent artists and buy the album if you want lossless.)
BUT, there is another tracker that specializes in independent music called Shellife AKA MyBloodyTwee.
It's combination of two older trackers (TweeTracker & MyBloodyTracker) - it has a lot of indie-pop, indie-rock and shoegaze - nothing too well-known is allowed. They have some FLAC (~550 albums and counting) and it's all permanently half-leech.

Thanks for all the help! I want to take a look at shelllife and I am visiting them on the IRC to request an invite.

It appears that waffles and what are in high demand and I believe I need to pay for Pedro's!

Thanks for the advice on Shellife, I am idling in the irc room looking for an invite.

Thanks!

Pedro's is good for classic rock, but it doesn't necessarily excel in many other genres. Pedro's is great in many other genre's. Like Funk, Blues, Jazz, Metal, Reggae etc. I find all my music there.
