For IE:
The only good addon for IE that I know of is IE7pro: http://ie7pro.com/
Its made for IE7 but I think theres a beta version that works for IE8

For opera:
Download this adblock list: http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/opera/urlfilter.ini
The instructions on where to place the file are in the file

For firefox:
Adblock plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
Flashblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433
Noscript: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
WOT: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3456

Google Chrome:
I dont think there are any plugins for it yet.

Some plugins for Chrome here :

http://blogote.com/2008/featured-article/google-chrome-with-firefox-addon.html

The Noscript for Firefox will drive you nuts as you won't be able to do very much browsing , I used it for about 5 minutes .
The Flashblock addon , same thing thought I was missing some good shit so kept disabling . :D

I'm guessing you just drag the link to your Google Chrome bookmark ?

" Disable/block Ads on webpage (Adblock for chrome)

Adblock+ Just drag and drop this link/bookmarklet on your bookmarks bar.Ad block removes “java, flash, background music, and third-party iframes.” Thus it does a handy job of blocking the ads on a webpage. who says only firefox addon block ads ? Chrome too has a Adblock type addon now! "

I agree peat moss.
Using both will make you more secure but you will just end up spending a lot of time allowing most things(that you probably know nothing about)anyway so why bother.

I will suggest Cookie Safe lite if you aren't running anything that already blocks cookies.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=cookie+safe+lite&cat=all
