Got a couple of those Netbook things for Mrs JP and No 1 daughter.

In shop the resident geek came up, seeing two middle aged cretins and started to explain that "IT'S NOT WINDAES AND YOU CANNAE USE WORD AND STUFF ON IT". The wee lassie standing beside him was impressed with his technical knowledge and people skills.

I pointed out that I was well aware of the history of linux and how it was an open source adaptation of Unix, written by a chap called Linus Torsvalds, hence the name. I explained a wee bit about the concept of open source and how it had resulted in a variety of linux flavours. I thanked him for his concern but trusted that he realised I was capable of coming to a decision sans his condescension.

When the wee lassie asked if we were interested in the White or the Blue case I replied "You better give me one of each" she bimbled off just before his cawk fell off.

Mrs JP was mightily amused at the whole episode.

True Story.

That would depend where it was imported from, Shirley Lots of cars are imported and parts aren't a problem.

From Thailand or somewhere neer there i think, they cost 7 or 8 hundred pounds-ish over there and over here he's selling them for 1,100 pounds. I've never bought a Motor vehicle before, or parts.

Cars are just bad at squeezing to the front of traffic jams and beating everyone at the lights.

Anyone who squeezes to the front of traffic jams is a cawk anyway.

If you bought new shiny stuffs for the family, what did you do to the old dusty stuffs?

JP do you have all pc's intertwined? So all files are shared from wherever you are?

JPaul

Nah, Mrs JP doesn't want that. I can transfer stuff via the gift of the electrical network but she didn't want me to set it up so they all share files directly.

Does that make sense.

I've just left the netbooks using the wireless for now as it works so well. Full strength and full speed from anywhere I've tried. However they also work with the wired network if she wants. I've also set them up for a neighbours wireless, in the rare event that we lose our internets.

Couldn't you tell her to mind her womanly business and stay off the interwebs or did she buy that too.
