future theater releases question

how far an advance do theaters get movies? i have a friend that claims he saw certain movies being delivered into movie theaters and when i checked some of these dont even come out till next year.

Used to be that theaters got the film about 2-3 days before the start of the run.
Don't know about now but I'd be skeptical about your friend's story.

He may have seen promotional material- posters, standups, etc.- coming in- that sort of stuff is made even before the film itself is finished.

How do I know?
I actually deliver the promotional stuff to a theatre/cinema in London and they DO NOT get the movie before the trailer!:lol::lol::lol:

so do you think he is seeing movie trailers? cause he is convinced and i have seen him get a few tv show screeners before.
