Taken from www.machinehead1.com...

An 8 song advance went out to journalists the other day, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before...*ahem*.
Now I ain't saying that every journalist is gonna do that, but you know...

The folks at our record company had a good idea, though - they suggested putting different mixes for different versions of each CD that's sent out, which we did. There are guitar up mixes, guitar down mixes, alternate vocal mixes, even no swearing versions floating around out there, that way, if it gets out, it'll make it easier to trace who leaked it. So, we'll see.

Those sneaky bastards...now im gonna have to wait till it comes out to get the full copy...A Perfect Circle still hasn't dropped yet...but hopefully it drops on the weekend...but considering its dropping a week later in Australia the shipping wont be till later...APC are getting tricky aswell...doesn't worry me cause i won a free APC - A Thirteenth Step poster...so im happy...plus im gonna buy the album anyways :)...but yeah just letting ya know how f*cked up the record companies really are...

wow :o
Those altered versions could be somewhat of a collectors item.
Some tracks have louder guitar and different vocal mixes?
Those might be interesting to hear.
Except for the ones with no foul language. <_<

I have a promo copy of Deftones new album. It is the full album and it does have multimedia, which obviously is meant to be played on your computer. I was talking with FC and he said its probably "watermarked'. It seems to me this is what is done now, so you can only play the music on standalone players... at least for promo copies.... to prevent ripping. I hope the retail versions arent like this... or what is the point of buying the album in the first place if you cant play it on your computer. Some people actually do not have stand alone cd players.

Thats my 2 cents.

I do not think the Retail will be like that when it comes out....or they would lose alot of sales.

all this makes me wonder what limpbizkit will be getting upto when their album is due to come out soon...no doubt they will be tight asses and not let anything leak till like a couple of days before...because fred durst needs to buy a couple more girls cause he can't get them on his own free will...but im doubting many people will even download it...let alone buy it...but unfortunately it will reach no1 on the charts because 13 year olds will think limpbizkit is cool and will start swearing like a mutherfucker...i bet the lyrical content will be as low as that of britney spears...except instead of saying love every 5 seconds...fred durst will be saying fuck every 5 seconds...but thats just my opinion...

When will these record companies realise that preventing CD's from playing on your PC wont stop internet piracy? With a single cable and the right software (which is freely available) you can still capture the cd from your stereo's headphone socket. All that type of protection does, is encourage people to d/l instead of buy.

These new tactics to stop leaks is a unusually bright idea from this ppl. Now we have to wait until the albums are actually realeased.............

But still, the anticipation makes the sound so much more sweeter B)
