View Full Version : Seeding on HDBits?

I recently got into HDBits, and I'm having a bit of trouble seeding on my 640k upstream. I only downloaded a few things so far, and I'm almost back at 1:1. But the time it took to get there was a little bit long so I don't want to download anything until I get back to 1:1. Problem is, everything I want is well seeded already, so no one would be leeching off of me.

Aside from grabbing scene TV shows elsewhere, or grabbing the free leech stuff, do you guys have any suggestions? Seeding itself isn't the problem, its the time it takes to seed back.

there is no hit and run rule on HDbits ...

so by boosting you ratio all you want with the freelech stuff you don't have to worry about seeding the other stuff you download back to a 1:1

you can confirm this by searching their forum and you'll find the mods explaining there is no hit and run rule on the site.

agreed, get all the freeleech stuff you can (the blue torrents) to build a buffer, then go from there.

but by god if you can't maintain a great ratio with FREELECH stuff... i mean.. come on.

They dont make it clear in the FAQ, they just say "very low share ratio".... read the FAQ dude.

EDIT: not like you have a horrible ratio, youre good. Just stay active and youll be ok.

Where's the problem that it takes time ? That's one of the points which makes the tracker special. VERY long high quality seeded torrents :)

Yeah, there's TONS of freeleech stuff, porn is also very popular :P
You just need to maintain a ratio of 0.450 according to the rules, that's easy ;)

Where's the problem that it takes time ? That's one of the points which makes the tracker special. VERY long high quality seeded torrents :)Because if the files were 700MB, seeding back would be quick and easy. Like I said, almost all of the stuff I want are already really well seeded.

I'll just continue grabbing the free leech stuff. Thanks guys. :)

HDbits has a seeding bonus implemented as well. Grab small stuff over 500meg that will count for the bonus, then exchange credz for gigs.

I just used a seedbox for a week to build a 500GB buffer.
