.....me to run me pc off me focus cigarette lighter???

I don't mind running the Powerful,Flexible, yet economical 1.8 lx Zetec unit to achieve this. It's so nice in there and there's plenty of room. It would allow us to spend a little more quality time together!!

Thought of this while I was valeting her with me steam cleaner.

apparently it's against the law to use a pc whilst driving

keeping this in mind, your idea sounds like a great idea

It's ok I have friends involved in law enforcement!! (well one actually - he was the arresting officer!) and he wasn't so much as a friend it was really more of a professional relationship!!

Thank you for your concerns!

Yep - I've got one.

12v to 240v adapter, cost about £70 as I recall.

We use it for the laptop on long journeys. Let's the kids watch avi movies.

Sorry but it's true.

It means we can have a really fresh wee cup of tea with just boiled water when we go on a trip in the Land Rover 4l V8i Automatic.

very nice 'car' JPaul :D

however, i'm opposed to people who don't necessarily need 4x4 vehicles using them, due to the obvious health risks

What obvious health risks - I assume you mean to people not in the "car".

absolutely

'incompatibility' is a major problem in crashes involving 4x4 vehicles (SUV's)
quite simply, the 4x4 can (and does in a lot of accidents) climb over the top of a normal sized car, crushing/decapitating occupants in the car

also, a 4x4 'carries' a lot more kinetic energy than a normal car at the same speed, so 'losing' this energy can be more difficult for a 4x4

also, braking and handling stability is a factor in 'cars' of 4x4 proportion and weight

F=MA and all that sort of thing.

People shouldn't be allowed to drive them unless they know how and have been taught by professionals. Or in my case I taught my wife to drive it so that's OK too.

also, 4x4 drivers i've encountered in traffic have a kind of "i'm bigger than you" mentality
it can get frustrating being belittled by them
