What's the word for a person who is a professional nonsense speaker.
Like not talking a load of shit but I mean where they purposely jump subject to subject so that you can't understand them.
I saw this guy do it on tv before and it was funny, can't remember the name for it now though.:ermm:

JPaul

Equivocating or prevaricating possibly.

tralalala
10-05-2008, 11:26 AM
I thought prevaricating was the art of delaying, or trying to drag a certain thing onwards, like kids prevaricating before going to bed at night, so they go and have another drink of water, go to the loo once more.. That type of stuff.

Prevarication is lying, pretty much.

That would've been my guess, but you might also consider bureaucratese, prolixity, logorrhea, or term such speech as merely deconstructionist.

He probably still does, I just haven't seen him for a while. Anyway, carry on.

Oh, no, that's not what I mean at all, Paul.

(see what I did there)

I have occasionally recapitulated my thoughts/feelings this time of year.

I still think (at this point in time, anyway) the world of everyone I've ever corresponded with in this place.

In six years, I have given up on precisely two people here, people who have left without my having chased them away.

My friends know who they are, and I think I've attained a modest degree of popularity or something like it.

I am comfortably aware of those who think me a buffoon.

My affection for this board and it habitues is unabated.

Nothing at all wrong with any of that, really. :whistling

To be honest, I've been here longer than 6 years now. We had this other account before B and I created our own.

As every year, 't is a time to reflect. It is funny to think that an internet community can go for this long. It's even funnier to think that people like you and JP have known me longer than my own husband

One thing's for sure; I never ever ever could have guessed 6 years ago that I would be in the position I am in now

One cabaretiers who seems to be "in" at the moment in the UK, is Dutch Hans Van Teeuwen.. he is really great for racial (dis)integration and seems to have fled the Low Countries soon after we lost Van Gogh.
