This program is called Neo Trace Pro. It will trace the exact street name, number, phone number and registered name of an IP address that you type in.

For example lets say that your firewall blocks a file that is intended for harmful purposes on your computer. You can find out the IP adress or the exact file name and enter this in to get a complete detail on when, where and how this program came to you.

I think it is an awesome program especially with all the talk about the record company trying to delete MP3's from your PC.

I found this on Kazaa and I am glad I did!

Almost forgot you can even choose to view a satellite image of the exact location that the file came from.

Search for it and try it out.......post your comments or tips for this program in here for all to learn.

Have a great day!!

This is pathetic... I put in my IP, and it says I'm in Philadelphia, when I live on the other side of the freakin' state.

Oh, but maybe I pressed "Go" incorrectly... Hmm... <_<

This program will never work with 100% acuracy or come even close. IP adresses change, get reassigned and get sold to other companies. Matching an IP address to a real world physical location is almost impossible. Besides that, the program is already kinda old and its database is probably off. Only the ISPs can match an IP address to a physical location and name because they monitor your logons and assign you an IP number.

also if you are like me and use a proxy its definetly not going to work

Well i have been using this since it was first released, before macaffe took it over, and I am very amazed to now find out that I could have been looking up phone numbers and street addresses with it all this time. Darn I must be slow. <_<

Anyway, It does have some uses such as locating an approximate city location for an IP, registrant and ISP details, contacts, and the route taken. And the external apps are cool for checking the OS and uptime for websites. (among other things)

I have to wonder why the hell anyone would be downloading this from kazaa though when it's available from the manufacturer or from fosi. ????

Remember, always practice safe se.. err downloading.
Always check it on Google first.
Get the real version and serial or a crack if you must.
If it's not available on the web, be very suspicious or very carefull.

No program can trace an IP to an exact correct place.

I wrote this original post because of another post here in this forum that had the screen shots to view.

You can view them at:

KLBoard (lite)-Bellsouth hacking kazaa users on their network (http://www.klboardlite.ath.cx/bb/read.php?f=2&i=28577&t=28577)

So far I have heard a few negative comments on Neo Trace Pro. Does anyone know of another program which either has the same functions or similiar functions?

Thanks in advance to all of us k-l-++forum users!

I just checked the link to ensure that it is viewable and the forum is down for awhile.

The code from the trace is actually pretty interesting because it shows an exact address!

The message from the Forum says "Be back up in a few hours".

At least this works for some people.

well, it wasn't neotrace showing an exact address because it just doesn't.
It will give you contact details for the ISP and admin of each network hop and possibly the "computer name or host address" of your PC, which would be like
SMITHE-6T2 , h82.35.67.253/bc.hsia.telus.net or something very similar.
Never an actual municipal address.
The database for that and the amount of cooperation required between a website and service providers would be enormous.

This is more likely to get close to an actual address along with something like MS streets and tips >>>

The distortion is caused by watermarks in the unlicenced pro version.

You can change the angle of view and fly down streets in some csases.

This is the program CNN uses for it's news reports

It's subscription based though, through their servers. I get promo's through business once in a while but I think they want $600 a month for the subscription. Just a wee too much for my budget.

They have an Nvidi home version that's probably a lot cheaper or even free (if you have an nvidia card)

I have an NVIDIA card and have used Earth Viewer and it is worth the money!

When I last checked they didn't offer the trial anymore.

Yes, they have trials again. Check the link above the screen shot.

Oh, and it looks like the subscription is a one time fee of $600
