My Longhorns beat the Sooners in one of the best games I've seen all year!

This is perhaps the biggest rivalry in the country, and easily the biggest rivalry in the South. This year had a lot of buildup seeing as Texas was #5 and Oklahoma was #1, but now it looks like those ranking may be switched tomorrow. :01:

Did anyone see the game? :)

Shouldn't they be tied at #2.5 now?

In fact I use it because ESPN's coverage of non-mindless american dumbed down sports is horrible. But, hey, to each their own.

so, my original question is now taken back since I didn't see the link. Can't be blamed for what I dont see.

"2.5"?

Negative.

Rankings have nothing to do with averaging the previous ranks with the potential new ones.

Oklahoma was #1 and just lost to my #5 Longhorns.

Alabama was (is?) #2, but was idle this week. We'll have to see if Texas leaps them in the polls.

#3 is Missouri, and #4 is LSU.

#4 LSU just lost to #11 Florida and thus will fall, possibly out of the top 10.

#3 Missouri lost to #17 Oklahoma St. and thus will fall as well.

All that being said, the Horns will no doubt be in the top 2 without question. I'm not sure exactly how much of the other factors will count tho. (strength of schedule, etc)

Seeing as we beat the #1 ranked team, it seems only right that we should take the #1 position. :)

I wouldn't have thought a Canadian would have been interested in NCAA football, but you never know...

I should have never grouped you in with the likes of puckface and her poor taste in orsum sports tho'.

yeah, tastes differ. I acknowledge that. I'm sure you may not like hockey and football (soccer) as I do.

orsum?

oh and thanks for the subtle "her" in your post.

"DALLAS -- Thank goodness we live in an age of DVRs and instant classics, endless replays and countless highlight shows. Only 92,182 people at the refurbished Cotton Bowl and a national television audience got to see one of the best college football games of this or any season.

If you went to see your team play Saturday, if you didn't have the good fortune of wearing burnt orange or crimson in Fair Park on a sunlit fall Saturday, if you made the mistake of watching some other game, get thee to YouTube. Buy, cheat or steal your way to a copy and watch No. 5 Texas beat No. 1 Oklahoma 45-35.

Yes, that's right, 80 points and 873 yards spread over three hours and 26 minutes of the kind of excitement once reserved for heavyweight title fights, back when boxing mattered."

Amen brotha...

You might be surprised how hard it is to find a semi-naked girl wearing the right colours and holding the #1

I watched it. It was an excellent game. Did you catch the Florida vs LSU game? The Gators handled the Tigers (I didn't expect that.)

I missed that game, but only b/c I was watching a fellow conference battle between OSU and Mizzou. That one was all it was cracked up to be as well.

My Horns have a super tough schedule coming up as well. We just beat the number #1 team and now have to face #11 Missouri, then #8 OSU, then #7 TX Tech, then Baylor, then #16 Kansas, then another big rivalry to end the season with TX A&M.

The Big12 is tough.
