I have set up my Ubuntu seedbox as described HERE (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-guides-and-tutorials-65/t-naqs-complete-setup-guide-linux-seedboxes-fedora-corecentosdebianubuntu-281331).

Any help on encrypting the harddrive would be great...! Is it too late now I have everything up and running?

If it's not, than does anyone know of a step-by-step guide, that's easy to use by novices like me (similar to the guide above)?

Thanks

When is it needed?

Is it needed if the server company (ovh) don't allow torrents?

this is the answer for your privacy needs.
i use it a lot on my laptop drives, as if anyone gets on hold of it, they won't have access to shit.

to get to my files, it requires a power on password, a HDD access password, a windows logon access password, a windows administrator access password, and the password to mount the virtual encrypted drives. No one is gonna get something from me without a fight.

(yes, i'm no paranoid, i just have very valuable documents on my laptop, and that shouldn't be made public in any way, plus music and pirated software).

I have seen this listed, but I'm a proper linux newbie, and would need very precise instructions to get it to work lol

OVH know thousands of people use their servers for torrenting. As long as you've removed the OVH public key and changed the root password, you'll be OK :)
