hi

I have been reading this forum for a while now. thanks to all that contribute and teach me along the way.

I am just about sure i want to buy an astraweb block of 100gig because i wont be using it continuously, and am just about convinced to get newsleecher as the reader.

I was curious if we have several computers in the house, can all the computers have the set up on them, but only one at a time be downloading? i think i have worked that out to be the case.

Also, i was wondering if there is anything else i need to read about before i start. or if its just a newsserver and a newsreader.

Finally, i was wondering what your best advice is. If you could do it all again, what do you wish you had of been told? or website shown, or link shown.. or whatever.

Thanks in advance

Tracey

I find Alt.Binz as well as Newsleecher great newsreaders! :D
You can decide on which you prefer.

Also as you said, most premium usenet providers only allow 1 IP per account at a time. So you can have it set up on multiple PCs, just make sure not to connect to the account on more than 1 PC at the same time, unless they have the same IP address.

You can't go wrong with an astraweb block account, they are great :D

If you have all your computers going through a router or something so they are all sharing the same internet connection then you can have them all connected at the same time. Its only if your trying to connect from more than one internet connection at the same time, that's not allowed.

As for the newsreader, NewsLeecher is fine. Also go to http://binaries4all.com for tutorials, it'll help you get started. http://www.slyck.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=44446 has a good list of NZB sites :)

Astraweb block accounts are great - use it to dl files 160 days old if your main provider's retention had expire. I'm hoping Giganews would provide similar accounts. But too bad they won't... they're just greedy stingy bastard.
