I agree that its probably the best fifa there has been in years. I have always been a pes person but i must say from playing the pes demo, that this fifa might be just as good or even better then pes this year.

Very good graphics and a clear gameplay improvement. Fifa is getting a lot better now, but according to me they still have a little bit left to reach up to the same level as PES.

I'm not into building a team and taking it through the league, but just looking for some arcade style playability, do any of these (Fifa or PES) have that type of playability? if not any other suggestions for arcade style football (soccer) game?

PES 2009 is the more arcadish. It's much of the same old but who cares, gameplay is still good.

Fifa 2009 is definately more tougher, tougher to score long range shots, tougher to maneuver past defenders and tougher creating opportunities due to tougher passing and through balls because you have a power meter even for passes whereas with PES you just tap the pass button and it will do the perfect pass for you.

I think Fifa 2009 takes it this year even though the game is not 100% right, there's still room for improvement in its gameplay. Graphics are beautiful. One thing Fifa needs to work on is the shooting/free kick mechanic and the jostling/tackling mechanic, these need to be more like PES, especially shooting. In PES you can score screamers if in the right position with the right player but in Fifa the shot just floats up. You nearly always have to be in the penalty box to score in Fifa which I don't like.

Player celebrations after goals really need to be worked on in Fifa. I hate that free style mode crap - they should take that out. They should incorporate the trademark celebrations of the most popular players and make some nice generic ones for all other players. Right now when you score a goal it doesnt feel like you scored a goal - it just feels bland so this needs reworking.

Best bang for your buck is Fifa 09 hands down because of it's online mode - less laggy and 10 v 10 etc. Also, having all the licenses to name/logos just immerses you more into the game rather then fake names/logos.

I think that the heads of the players are very big, and i think that the Ps3 version is better than the pc one..

On PS3 version, when a team is about to kick off, the opponents are all glitchy; all are doing the same motion, jumping in one spot. Other then that PS3 version is good, I like it.
