What is a good program to join mpeg movies ?

Hi Guys

Can anyone recommend to me a quick and easy program to join 2 long mpeg movie files into one ?

I can use Windows Movie maker, but I find it very tedious having to load up all of the scenes.

I use Avidemux to do the same job with avi movies and it is so easy using its append option.

ive only needed to do this with mp3's but i think these will do the same thing for mpegs.

Try Googling "Virtual Dub Mod" or "Virtual Dub Mod Aud-X Enabled" if you would like 5.1 channel ac3 support built in (as long as you also get the aud-x codec anyway). Virtual dub is an Avi software but the modded version will also open Vob, mpeg, mkv and ogm files. Sometimes strange audio in the first two can stop you, and both strange audio and video in the second two, but I use it all the time and its free and very useful. The only catch is when joining the two mpeg files you can't save them as mpeg you have to save as avi but thats a plus for me. All you would do is open the first mpeg file then select FILE > APPEND SEGMENT and choose the second file. Set your Compression under the Video tab and configure it (I usually use DivX) and the Audio Tab (or Streams Tab in the modded version, right click the audio to get its menu)set compression to ac3 128kbps and boost the Volume by 246%

Other than that there is TMPGEnc and TMPGEnc Dvd Author which are not freeware but excellent programs.
