Could you recommend a decent but cheapish(i was gonna say not to cheapish but that's what everyone wants ) external hard drive that just runs of the usb because i can't be bothered to lug the adapter about as well :eyebrows:

It's just a back-up for photo's, music films etc. I'm in of one because this laptop i'm on only has a 55gb hard drive anf there's only 2gb left :ermm:

Well whats your price range/amt of storage in GB you are looking for?

Here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010150414%201035907839&page=1&srchInDesc=bus%20powered&bop=And&Order=PRICE) are the search results on newegg

You could also get an 2.5" enclosure thats bus powered (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010090092%201054207132&bop=And&SrchInDesc=bus%20powered&Page=1) and an 2.5" drive (http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory.aspx?SubCategory=380&name=Laptop-Hard-Drives) to save some bucks

I've got a WD Passport too and its awesome. Very compact, good looking and cheap.

You could think about upgrading the internal drive on your laptop instead of using an external. Would be much more convenient, and you could get an enclosure for the old 55GB and use that externally.

Gah, you'd be better off spending a little bit more and getting the Samsung F1 1TB hard disk for £75. Then just buy a cheap external enclosure for about £10-15 if you only need a USB interface.

I wouldn't usually go for a Samsung drive and would stick to WD drives, but this new Samsung drive is actually pretty good.
