Skweeks, when you due?

Skweeky
10-26-2008, 06:59 PM
Two weeks today CG.
Baby's head has started engaging. The upside is that I can breathe again and I don't get kicked in the ribs as often. Downside is that it's just not comfortable having a head sitting on my bladder :ermm:

CrabGirl
10-26-2008, 07:04 PM
Reckon you'll get to two weeks and not go into labour before?

Skweeky
10-26-2008, 07:08 PM
I dunno... been having some twinges and back ache but it can just be normal discomfort.

I bloody hope it decides to come out soon so I can put on my own shoes again

At 38 weeks he/she is just putting on a bit of weight. The wean is fully developed so any time now is cool.

My IVF twin-impregnated sister is now 34 weeks gone. They took her into hospital the other day cos they say that one is breach and it's not getting enough oxygen to the brain.

The stronger is like 5lb 4 and the weaker is like 3lb 8 or something else. They won't let her go past Tuesday so fingers crossed.

I'll be an uncle twice before Halloween, all going well.

Woo hoo!!

Baby currently has the hiccups. That's like the 4th time today

It's all that cheese you fed him/her.

I hate calling babies "it", no problem with anyone else doing it like. I just feel uncomfortable about it.

I take it it'll be a C-section for sure then?

Absolutement, Skweeks.

I've witnessed 3 of them. Never seen a natural birth first hand, like.

I'm guessing it's a lot fucking easier. No, actually, I'm pretty damn sure of it.

Edit: the section that is, not the natural birth, like.

Skweeky
10-26-2008, 07:57 PM
I'm sure it is for getting the baby out.

Not too sure about afterwards though... my sis had two C-sections and it took her ages to recover from them :(

@chalice - Mazel Tov dude.. Double the uncle :) How bad are the scars from a Caesarean then..? Heard they, like, make the bottom end of the belly look pretty awkward after it's been done.. Or was that just a nasty rumour?

If it's done by a half-decent surgeon and not a butcher the scar is pretty invisible within a couple of years

Skweeky

You know, it's not that bad really. It's only a small cut just above the pubic area. It seems the difficulty lies in restoring the abdominal muscles, as they've pretty much been sliced through.
Well, that was the case with my sis anyway, but she had her last baby 6 years ago. I assume things may have changed a wee bit since.

chalice

I think that as far as scarring is involved, one c-section doesn't really do much damage.

Trouble begins when you have to have more than one performed. The surgeon has to reopen the scar from the last time which will obviously leave a more severe scar.

Third time, more often than not, pretty much fucks it up worse. The missus is really self-conscious about it. No bikinis for her. True story.

Great news there chavis. Wondering when my cousin's going to have her first. Lazy cow. All they want is money, no giving birth.

Your wifey had 3 C-sections perf'ed chavs? My mom never let them do it that way. She had the four of us the naturel way (wouldn't have been able to have us all, otherwise).

She had no choice in the matter, Sherman.

She's too small. The hips don't lie. She says she's 5 feet tall but she's a fucking liar.

Imagine Smurfette crossed with a hobbit crossed with a munchkin and you're in the right ballpark. Only she's not blue, hasn't got big hairy feet and doesn't sound as if she's been sucking helium.

She sounds worse. True story.

Well, one of out teachers in school had twins with a C-section, and when she came to school one day with a shirt that revealed bits of her abs (and she's not a fat woman to say the least), it looked creepy.. :scary:
