Steelers Vs. the Ravens

What better way to start off the Season? The last Super Bowl Team(some say it goes through them)from our division vs. the AFC North championship Pittsburgh Steelers.I am not going to break down every Position like the shows do and all the Sites are doing today....there is no Point in that fellas.

Even though I will say to watch out for my boy.....Plaxico Burress from Pittsburgh. :P

This is the Ravens vs the Steelers!

You must be a Steelers fan, FC. I'm worried about their quarterback change, but I'll give them an edge over the Ravens, who changes quarterbacks more often than I change undies.

I have always followed the Raiders. First season I watched in full was the one they beat the Redskins in the Superbowl (XVIII). They were in between their Oakland periods at that time, being in L.A.

Marcus Allen got MVP for a stunning performance. I think he rushed about 199 yards, with a 72 yard touchdown. He went into the Hall of Fame this year, unless I am much mistaken.

Compare the numbers who watch and play on a regular basis.

Association Football is the world's game. It really is that simple.

American Football is just bad rugby with padding on. It's also a really long season. What is it, about 16 games. Oh and I love the idea of

Have a play - 5 seconds.

30 seconds for adverts.

Repeat the above, oh and we better give them time-out's as well in case they are tired. Let's make it 4 quarters as well, more breaks.

Oh what the hell make them have one team to defend and one to attack. Just in case they get tired doing both. Wait there's kicking as well, so better have another team for that. So 45 players, will that be enough to cover it.

Better give them a University Degree if they are good at it. So let's not bother getting the bright people in. Let's get the athletes. That way we can get more funding, to get more athletes, to give them degrees.

Do You People Take This Seriously.

@ Hogster. FOOTball is played with the FEET, hence the word FOOTball.

FOOTBALL, the world game, played in and by every country in the world, even the US.

Gridiron, played by no-one, cos it's CRAP. No-one plays it outside the US, no-one watches it outside the US, cos it's the most boring game on the planet.

Rugby league is a real man's game, if that's what you want, it's also the game gridiron was originally based on, obviously by someone who couldn't remember the rules!

And the padding! Crash helmets! For fuck sake! Bunch of pansies!

Nikki,

I think you mean kicker Morton Anderson.

That Morton would NOT catch a touchdown pass and as a 40+ y/o whitebread would not do "the worm". That is such a funny image. Thanks.

Johnnie Morton and Morton Anderson are both playing for the Chiefs.

Jayhawk,

My Rams have a bye week so I am watching the game. Have to admit I am for the Broncos. I just like Jake Plummer. I want him to show the world what can be done when you are freed from the evil Arizona Cardinals. Yes, I am still very bitter about Bidwell moving the St. Louis Cardinals to Phoenix. He claimed that our fan support was the problem when, in fact, his inept handling of the team was the problem. The people in Arizona are feeling this pain now.

BTW, thanks for beating the crap out of my Tigers last week. I think our defense must have felt it rude to interfere with your offense marching down the field on every drive.

Andersen's gotta be at least 41-42 now - he's been playing since I was a little kid!! Like 22 years or something.
Nikki,

I think you mean kicker Morton Anderson.

That Morton would NOT catch a touchdown pass and as a 40+ y/o whitebread would not do "the worm". That is such a funny image. Thanks.

Johnnie Morton and Morton Anderson are both playing for the Chiefs.
Yeah, I did - I was referring to the missed FG that dingobaby mentioned. I know who they both are, thanks. :)
Life is timing.

I now bear the label of the patronizing male, however, if you can see how the thread unfolded, my misunderstanding is logical and non-patronizing.

Anyway, sorry.

edit: I WAS being patronizing, I didn't read the whole thread carefully. At least I am honest.

Yes, when I read up, I saw there was a post about Johnnie Morton's TD reception in between them...

Ty Law with the interception, goes 65 yards for a touchdown. Pats up 38-27 with 1:49 to go in the game.
