View Full Version : Rapidshare Daily Download Limit For Premium Users

I am a Rapidshare premium user (just signed up 2 days ago) and it looks like I'm limited to 2.5GB of downloading per day... Is that right? For the money, that's NOTHING.

Anyone have a better solution to download more per day, that doesn't involve premium link generators?

Thanks

Thats right read the news page http://rapidshare.com/news.html
of course its nothing 2.5 GB /day is a big joke for me.I suggest you to try usenet its fast/secure/unlimited download and the files are not deleted when someone report them for illegal distribution like rs do

Yep, rapidshare isnīt the greatest host anymore, they simply couldnīt hook up all the users so they just limited them to this stupid traffic...:s
Try megashares, great speed and great content if you know where to look..:P

Any possibility that rapidshare might refund (at least part) of the money I paid them for a 30 day account which I opened 2 days ago?

Don't they tell you the limit before you pay?

I didnt see anything about daily limits until after I paid. It was in the fine print (which I shouldve read). Oh well.

there is no solution man .. you just can wait untill they'll understand what they did and then ( finally ) they'll return to the old way .
I'm still with the 10 giga but the new user with 2.5 and that's crap :S .

shit gets deleted off newsgroups fast also.

...
Premium users will be able to save up to 30 GB of download capacity, if the daily 4 GB volume has not been used.

they limited me like once a year ago. when it was 5gb daily... for some reason i still DL about 7-10 gigs in 1 day every so often w/o being limited. i dunno why.

Many are angry about them.. the limits are ridiculous.
They have a legal fight here, perhaps there's a connection I don't know...

if they dont have daily limit for free users(non premium) i think you can download more than 2.5GB.I mean its better to be a free user

I just can't believe that. I was actually going to get a month account just to mess around with. But if I'm paying for it, I certainly want to be able to download more than a couple files worth each day. What a rip off.

Im on rapid share for a month and i have to say that the download lmit sucks and the speeds are very bad. 400KBps. I get around 3.7 easy on TL.

Did you try to download with many connections at once? Usually speeds up the process.

It appears I have 60GB available to me for the day. I get credited 10 gigs a day too. So If I download 30 gigs today and don't download in 3 days, then I have 60GB again. I have never got a message saying I have exceeded my limit and just now I checked and I have 60 gigs and I probably downloaded closed to 10 gigs yesterday.

TrafficShare left: 60.00 GB Files:
You are going to continue to be credited with 10 GB download traffic per day, until 02.07.2009. It is 242 days remaining.

To give every premium user the chance to try out the new side of traffic share right away, we have granted everyone 50 gigabytes extra. Go and see yourself how easy it is to expand your download limit with TrafficShare. You can check out your account status by logging into your premium zone.

i call bullshit. i download about 4-8 links at the same time around 5mb/s each. 5mb/s X 8 = about 40mb/s speeds. somethings wrong on your end.

i paid for my RS account years ago.(.de) and havent had to pay since. so all you people complaining about the price then how bout u upload instead of leech.
leechers pay either way. i earn about 2000 points a day easily. with only 300gb stored on my account.

TrafficShare is different. TrafficShare is where u can make any of your links direct/non waiting for free users.

Actually you can use your trafficshare balance for download.

Traffic left: 9 192 MB (+55 GB)

When I click on the +55 GB it says (If requiered, The trafficshare balance will automatically be credited to the download quota)

Like I said. I have downloaded quiet a bit and never have I been bothered with download quota limits. However I don't just use Rapidshare as my main download source but yesterday I did about 10 gigs of magazines.

The OP said you only get 2.5 gigs a day which is not true. I seem to have at least 60 gigs available to me.

TrafficShare is an allocated download quota that can be flexibly applied:

For one; to offer files for direct download: The receiver can instantly save the file, without being a RapidShare Premium member. The cost for the accumulated data-traffic is covered be the owner of the file.
On the other hand, you can use TrafficShare to stock up your own download volume. When you download a file and have exhausted your download quota, the system automatically allocates 1 Gigabyte of your TrafficShare quota as download traffic. For this a balance of at least 5 GB needs to be booked to your TrafficShare Account

WHAT?! 40mb/sec?? I download 8 connections at a time on my Optimum Online cable modem (via 802.11n wireless router) and get around 1.3-1.5mb/sec TOTAL between all 8 connections.

Easy points you say? Mmmm I don't know about that. I'm not a big uploader but I guess if now you get points from Premium users as well then is easier than before.

Also I guess you would need to upload some quality porn and put the links on a very popular forum. Still I would only expect about 100-150 downloads per link.

I just think it takes to much time uploading stuff and trying to get all those 10,000 downloads. For me paying for RS for a year is not a big deal since it ends up pretty damn cheap per month.

As far as download speeds go. I have got over 3 Megabytes per second which my cable modem some times does for a few seconds, then it drops back to my normal speed 1.2 Megabytes per second.

old users still get 10 gb per day, but no more dl as much as b4fore, so as soon as premium points runs out, I'm done with RS, private trackers+seedbox sounds fast and safe enough.

Funkin'
11-11-2008, 05:47 AM
^ But way more money for that seedbox every month. That's a waste in my opinion just to download.

I've actually been using RS the past few days(only free though), and I'm liking it a lot. Some of these forums(Wares-BB) has a shit load of content(I'm liking it more because it has shit I can't get on newsgroups because of my lame 160 day retention). I think I"m going to take the plunge and get me a premium account. The 2.5gb a day is bullshit. But how long do you really think they're going to keep it at that? And some days I don't download at all. So this may work out for me.

I don't know, I'll go ahead and spend the few measly dollars for a month account and see how it is. If the download limit suffices me, then I'll stop using usenet and stick with RS. If it's not enough, then I'll stick with usenet and just keep putting up with the retention.

I've been using Rapidshare Premium for probably a year & a half. I've downloaded lots of stuff and I've never even noticed their limit before. I've never downloaded gigs & gigs of stuff in one day so that's probably why.

I don't see how RS is gay. It's just like newsgroups, which are awesome. Except there is no retention, and it's cheaper. If RS didn't have this dumb ass new 2.5gb daily download limit, then I would make it my preferred way to download.

I'm guessing they'll increase this daily download again sometime in the soon to be future(hopefully). I'm sure they're losing all kinds of customers because of this.

Actually, that makes no sense. I pay for access to a usenet server. It costs more than rapidshare, though I get 160 days retention, unlimited speed, no data transfer limit, ssl :P

Sonnentier

SSL encrypts the traffic between your computer and the news hosting provider.
If your ISP sneaks up on you, this makes it more difficult for them to see what you do.

Usenet was designed to be a message board, and the messages can expire.
They have to or the storage space would be insufficient. The more days, the longer files are kept before deletion.

Rapidshare is pretty good for me. After getting three copyright infringement notices because of torrents, I've pretty much written them off for good. I have to pay for Rapidshare but it's well worth it and much quicker than torrents. I guess the only other alternative is Newsgroups, and one has to pay for that too.

I've never gotten in with a private tracker so that's probably why my experiences with torrents have been less than stellar. Do people using private trackers ever get copyright infringement notices?

Funkin'
11-21-2008, 05:14 AM
Not usually(although it has happened). If you're just into the usual 0day/general type of content, then I highly recommend just staying with RS, or even getting yourself a newsgroup account. Torrenting is less secure, and it's more work(seeding your files, constantly keep a good ratio) than the other two methods.
