The fact that you'd give away a very rare/useful tracker? Or that you'd come back a few months later and want it again?

Just making sure other users are careful. That kind of stuff made it so I can't have an account there because BMTV banned the user that invited me, therefore banning me as well. Nothing personal, just I've lost a lot because of people being careless around here.

Let me state some facts...Some you can verify and some you can't.

I am here to help people with advice and maybe an occasional invite. This isn't the safest of places to give an invite at so I am particular. I value and like the accounts I have and will not jeopardize them here unnecessarily. But as you can check I have offered a BitMeTV invite to someone in my TTi SH giveaway. I liked the few posts he had (he had asked for 1 of 2 TV trackers and not JUST BitMeTV). Part of the help I offer people they don't always ask for but I give it never-the-less...Such as give up trading and make friends.

I have never requested any tracker here. Because I have made friends in the BT community...I am a member at sites people "dream" to be in and am in a couple sites that people don't know about or think they are just a rumour.

I INVITED 3 FRIENDS to a "dream" site that starts with an F in the last month. They were invited because they are my friends AND they have never traded. I would not be at the sites I am at if I was a trader. And even better I have no worries of ever being banned from them. Traders don't have that luxury...

Your chances of being scammed or eventually banned are so high as a trader that I can't see why it is done by so many. Trading may get you into a site quicker but your account will never be secure in reality. You get more satisfaction making friends and knowing that they "trust" you.

Well, if you have a new ip then you probably won't have to fear a new account getting disabled. But...you can't really blame people for being cautious with inviting you since you once gave a bmtv account away. Am I right? Who knows what hapened to that account. I don't see why he doesn't just stick with tvt.com and tvt.ro. These are my two preferred tv sites since they're so easy to seed at. And tv.com has just as much content as bitmetv. My bmtv account rarely gets used anymore.

But everyone has their own preferrences.

I would suggest Denede to just close this thread(since with all the comments that have been made, an invite seems highly unlikely). It's going nowhere. I would not make anymore trades, start being active with posting in other sections and helping others out for a while. Then come back start another request thread. Then maybe by then someone will see that you're not trading anymore and offer an invite.

Either that, or go into the trade section and start a bmtv trade thread.

I honestly think those are your two only choices at getting a bmtv invite from someone from fst. And I suggest taking the route of stop trading and helping others out(make some friends) then come back to the request section after a while and start another request.

BitmeTV (BMTV) is definitely one of the best and most sought after private trackers ever. It’s right up there in the list of dedicated TV torrent trackers and it tracks almost every major US/Canadian TV Show currently airing/recently aired. Getting into BitMeTv usually requires and invite. Unlike most private trackers we’ve posted about on FILEnetworks Blog, BitMeTv has had only one open signup for the past 2 and a half years. Finding a BitMeTv invite is not that easy either, specially if you don’t have a good reputation in invite sharing forums. However, a change in Bitmetv’s invites policy for the month of December 2008 might just have made obtaining a BMTV invite relatively easy, even for novice users.



Generally, if you invite someone into BitMeTv, you are responsible for their actions. If the person who was invited got caught cheating, trading or breaking any other rules, the inviter too may face the consequences. This is what made it so difficult for newbies to get hold of a BMTV invite in giveaways conducted on most invite sharing forums. So here is the good news; I noticed the following posted on BMTV homepage today:

Wanted to invite some friends but have been worried that it might fall back on you badly?
Well, anyone invited during the month of December 2008's inviter will be immune for being responsible for those invites. So invite your friends and say stuff the consequences

This means than during December 2008, BMTV members will be extra generous towards invite requests (if you post in the proper places that is). This will also leave users with relatively low rep (reputation, credits or whatever else that measures your trustworthiness on invite forums) with a standing chance on obtaining a BitMeTv invite. Note that the change on invites policy will not be in effect till the 1st of December 2008 and will end on the 31st of December. Good Luck.

dont wanna get involved in any arguments here, but I have to beg to differ about getting-positive-rep-point-for-no-reason issue. It does happen, I was a victim myself and it was TakeMS who deliberately added a point with good trader comment to my rep in my requesting-ftn thread. I complained in the report section asking that point to be removed but only was told nothing they could do and was suggested to hide my rep as the solution.I was very much disappointed.
this is the bloody evil point I got which made me have to hide my rep ever since.

I dont trade and never did, so I dont want a rep with a 'being a good trader' comment, simple as that, a fst mod told me to hide it if I dont want ppl to see that very point,so I followed his advice. I cant be botherd to explain every time when some1 bring this up.
I'm just gutted by the fact that nothing positive could be done to resolve this issue.
wish there were disciplines on FST.
