Fantastic tonight. The bloke who wasn't Rusell Brand was my favourite.

Simon Amstell > Mark Lamarr.

Consistent fact. He's one funny wee fucker.

JPaul
10-30-2008, 09:43 PM
I agree

He also clearly improvises more. If the guests take him on they invariably lose.

I wasn't really very familiar with his work before this.

I love Simon Amstell. I only found out he was gay a few months ago and I was truly heart broken

That Greer woman is well funny as well! Anyone watching 8 out of 10 cats later on tonight?

edit: Was Amstell not on T4 before he started doing Buzzcocks?

JPaul

Yep Skweeks, Amstell used to do Popworld on E4. He was funny then but he has come on in leaps and bounds since he started doing Buzzcocks.

I never knew he was gay, btw. Now that I think about it, why didn't I?

I dunno... once you know about it is rather obvious. I reckon it's because he's not yer typical gay and he flirts with the wimmin. I found out on the episode where they had John Barrowman as a guest. Get that one somewhere if you can, it was tv gold.

Best episode ever is the one with Noel Fielding and Donnie Tourette. I was actually in tears when I watched that one.

I'm sure he makes a load of it up as he goes along. I know there's themes he's going to work with but I think it's only ideas which he fills out.

Oh for heaven's sake. Everyone knows that Samson was a Zealot, who believed that their strength was in their hair. Hence the myth.

I know that. You know that. Skweeks knows that.

Does Old Geezer know that? Does Allen know that? Does most of the other mongs know that?

They do now. Cos you've just explained it to them.

Which is quite unlike you tbh.

Stop giving away valuable information like this. Some of them might get some of the inside jokes and then what will happen?
You go and sit in the corner and consider the consequences of your actions, young man

'I would like to resign'

Saw Simon the other night with Jermaine Jackson on. It was the way he said so gently that it was OK to change from JW to Muslim because they are both right - even Jermaine laughed.

Saw that too. He was on about Jermaine marrying his brother's ex-wife and having kids with her. Then he goes, 'what about Michael, has he ever done anything weird?'

I don't care what anyone says. That bit in Russell Brand's Ponderland about the woman who was having sex with the dog and grooming her pony (true story) was hilarious!

Did you ever see the Buzzcocks with Amy Winehouse?

Tourette was the most upper middle class punk I have ever seen.

Amstrad made that obvious to the max.

Not that he was the most upper middle class punk I have ever seen like. That he was ...

Best part of last night was when Amstell asked Cilmi 'what do you think of feminism?' She looked flustered and then said 'Um, people shouldn't....say.....bad stuff. About women', and he turned to Germaine and said 'makes you wonder what the point was doesn't it?' I love Germaine, she's brilliant.

James Corden was really funny as well. I think I may fancy him, even though he's fat .

I'm with you there. It just proves humour is more important than looks.

Barbie: yeah, I think it's repeated at some point, also, it's on iPlayer at the moment :)
