I went in yesterday because we were doing a charity Halloween fancy dress thing for breast cancer and did not wish to appear as if I was crapping out on it - went to a farewell bash afterwards. I am so suffering for it today and I only had three drinks! I should have got blitzed. :(

Oh, I'm just getting over woman flu. It came over me all of a sudden monday before last. One minute I was running joyfully into work, and within a couple of hours I was crawling home on my hands and knees. Ended up needing 2 and a half days off work. What stage are you at now?

It's important they catch stuff to build up their immune systems.
Don't wrap it in cotton wool, skweeks!
If you're lucky they will have a decent full-on cold come Christmas

I don't mind it getting a cold and stuff and I'm the last person in the world to go round my house disinfecting everything, but I'd really rather not have a newborn with proper flu mate, that's dangerous.

Fair enough. Proper flu is right nasty, however most people who flounce about proclaiming "I've got flu!" usually have little more than a snotty nose.
