Hey ,

I'm planning to buy a seedbox...I have 100$ USD for it.

I want at least 30GB of space , 100Mbit connection , and at least for 2 months ...

now ,
I saw 2 seedboxes that interest me :

One on seedboxhosting.com -

$47 per month
Dedicated IP Address
50Gb Disk Space
250Mb Memory
1 Virtual CPU
Unlimited transfer, speed, and active torrents

The other on http://www.santrex.net/torrenthosting.php

Bronze :
Monthly fee 39$
Total space 50GB
Unmetered bandwidth
FTP

Remote control .

edit- I've found 2 more possibilities -

1.Keyweb - VRS-Premium 09 , I don't know what is the speed, but I guess 100mbits no ?
120 GB HDD | 2048 MB RAM | 3180 Flexi-RAM |
5000 GB Traffic monthly* , 20Euro per month

2. http://volumedrive.com/dedicated/ (Don't know about the speeds and traffic BW )

512 MB DDR2 Ram
120GB SATA II HD

I would like to get some help to decide which one is the best for me...

Thanks !

Presumably you want no limit on the number of active torrents?

umm...I don't know...I guess that the minimum is like 10\15...

u can try either of the following for seedbox access:

seedhost.eu

seedcafe.info

if u want a dedicated box, why not buy one like lease web or even try server.lu , they cost lest than 100$

just go directly for OVH dedicated server no matter it's seedhost.eu or a reseller.
and Im sure it wont let u down.

Thanks for your replys .

I'm avoiding OVH because of the new SLA policy ...

should I be worried about that?
I understand that I'll shortly get only 10mb connection after a few days...

The problem with those shared accounts is the IP , I want just 1 IP for myself , cause I'm arrfraid of being banned...

Thanks !

why dont you see dedicated servers and you are looking for seed boxes? You dont have to worry about the new sla policy.. You'll find yourself that is hard to cap anymore your server.. :)

OVH resellers are
seedhost.eu
seedplace.eu
seedright.es

So you say I'll get like 90% of the time 100\100 connection ? from what I read , it's not like that :S

DJDaveX
11-08-2008, 06:58 PM
No...

the deal is, if you use the full 100/100 for 10% of the month (36 hours), they will limit you.

Or so they say. They are very vague though, if I were you I'd stay away.

I see...

Can't I just limit to 95\95 somehow ? It will solve everything no ?

it's 36 hours straight or just 36 hours all over the month..

And what about the other 4 options I had before ? not OVH...

Thanks !

i think ur being a lil paranoid about ovh, just go buy a ovh premium server with initial setup of 50 e and then keep paying regular fees monthly, u get 100mbps always without fear of capping, if u still dont feel like taking that, just use a seedbox from seedhost.eu or seedcafe.info, they ve mentioned 1ip .

Also, most trackers dont ban u if u mention ip info to the moderator by pm..

Of the ones you posted, I'd go with SeedboxHosting first, then Santrex would be my second choice, as some seem to have problems with them. Although, the one-up Santrex have is that they offer uTorrent.

seedbox hosting has horrible speeds as i know of them, ive tested them when they offered trials and it ws horrible, 1-2MBps on S** , expensive....

santrex oversells their boxes big time.. 10-11 users is a feedback from some users, max uploads only 1-2MBps ..Makes no sense spending 30usd for 2MB upload..

Ok , And what about the other 2 ?

If I buy OVH I want to be sure that I can upload like 2-3TB a month...I still don't get what's the deal with the SLA exactly...

So If I buy a share account , it's a dedicated IP for each one ?
What about seedright seedboxes ? I saw the Basic II as a good choise for me...How much -+ can I upload on that plan ? with that SLA issue...

Thanks !

seedplace.eu also has no setup fee on their ovh servers..

T_w 2-3 tb a month it's not much.. you can sure deal with sla. No its an IP for all.
But i am telling you again.. if you want to spend up to 100$ you surely have to go on a dedicated solution

I think he wants to spend $100 total for 2 months of seedbox - meaning $50/month.

OVH pro server or kim server all work fine. for the pirce and the unlimited bandwidth, as before, as now, OVH is still the one of the best shot there.

dont misunderstand abt the new SLA policy, it's just doesnt matter at all for most of the torrenting user, but for some heavy FTP user, I guess u should limited ur speed.

Kimi's are a ripoff, just because you resell them dont spread lies. I, as well as many people have been put into noSLA mode after just a week of having a Kimi. You get put into this mode by using heavy bandwidth usage for 36 hours, which is in no way hard to do for a torrent user.

further confirmation: http://forum.ovh.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9413&postcount=2

meaning if you use 11 MB/sec for more than 36 hours TOTAL a month you are in noSLA mode, then you may as well use the box for a paperweight.

For the price of a kimsufi 10/10 unmetered is still very cheap for a server.

but peering is crap... Leaseweb's peering is rocking

You'll have to use /100 full 36 hours continuously but also if they limit your speed after 5 days with no transfers you'll be up at 100/109.. It has happened to me but i was recovered and believe me for that to happen i had 100 torrents from not so good sites as sct and scc running all the time.. :)Its very hard i believe..

Ive never lied to anybody, cuz I dont resell the kimsufi server only, the truth is, if I reselled the PRO server to someone, the profit is more than a kimsufi. If anyone wanna get a PRO server, u know where to find me.
so, I dont have to lie at all.
actually, the server I opened before the new SLA policy, it's standard SLA now, and the server I opened after the new SLA, it's stanard SLA too. none of those servers r in the noSLA mode. and none of those servers got capped.
yes, ofc, I know what the oles said on the OVH forum.
but the truth is, it isnt that bad, u cannot make a judge only based on the literal, u should have a try. at least for a month, if the kimsufi is too bad for u, then u could just leave it and go for the others.
