TagScanner blows that away.

Not, really because it uses the MusicBrainz engine, where it actually tags the data, based on the music, like a fingerprint,(sort of like that technology where the phone, can recongize the music, just by holding it up to the song) and not on the metadata.

I currently use mp3tag and am quite happy with it. This program does sound interesting, have you been using it for awhile now?

Yea....I just let it loose on 8000+ files, automation, no problems...

It uses MusicBrainz (http://musicbrainz.org/), an online database of over 6 million songs. Many of these songs also have an Acoustic Id provided by MusicIP (http://www.musicip.com/), allowing a song to be identified by the actual music, so it can do a match even if you have no metadata!

Tag&Rename is probably one of the best tag editing tool.

Why would you upload pay software to a tracker?

EyeCandy

Why not? Every software is essentially pay software.....

Skiz

Nothing is "essentially" pay software. It is or it isn't.

If people wanted the pay version they would download it from the official site, not a tracker. People go to trackers and other pirate sites to locate just that, pirated versions of the software. Trackers also do not want it on their trackers for the same reason.

Waffles:

Your release must be cracked or include a working crack, keygen, or serial. The exception to this rule is for commercial releases that do not require a crack, keygen or serial to run correctly.

What:

All applications must come with a crack, keygen, or other method of ensuring that downloaders can install them easily. App torrents with keygens, cracks, or patches that do not work and torrents missing clear installation instructions are deleted if reported. No exceptions.

Etc... It's pretty standard stuff really.

LOL, I think you misunderstood what I said, I uploaded my pay software, with the provided key.....only person that had to pay for it, was me....

I didn't misinterpret anything. You simply didn't mention it. :dabs:

On the other hand, how is Jaikoz better for tagging, than say, iTunes?

I did state it, I uploaded my bought copy...

uploaded my bought copy on a few torrent sites,

And its better, because its automatted, it is able to tag music, based on the actual music, ID3 tags can be blank, and it will autofill them based on the actual music...

Comment from Waffles:

This is honestly the only mass mp3 tagger worth downloading - and I've tried them all. So good that I'm actually going to purchase a legit copy!Comment From Demonoid

This is a great app - I bought it last summer to help ID hundreds of music files that I recovered after a hard drive mishap. I don't use it too often, as that was the primary reason I got it. But it worked well - thanks to the uploader - pity such a torrent wasn't around when I needed it - Anyhow $25 - 30 bucks well spent. The Acoustic Id function is pretty cool and is what helped me ID my songs.

The thing is sometimes I don't like the first tag option because it's a different release with different bonus tracks, or some tracks are mislabelled, or the original labels put the tracklist in the wrong order.

Does tag and rename just automate the process that mp3tag does, instead of giving you a choice of say 5 different tags for the album. I can imagine it fucking up your tracklists by having it do 8000 songs at once, and then there's no way to go back and sort things out because it's all been re-tagged incorrectly already. I can see it working for mainstream releases but can't imagine a program that does this flawlessly for every single album and every single release of every album out there.

Tagging relies on metadata AND/OR acoustic ids BUT you need to run Retrive Acoustic Ids first in order to create the acoustic ids in the first place, this might be why you are not getting as many matches as you would like.

Every time I've attempted to use such problems, I've always regretted it.

I remember 5-8 years ago a program that just renamed the files based on their ID3 tags.

20k+ songs renamed with the artist name, "Alice Deejay".

Wow.

Happened again recently, just the first track of every album was renamed, " - .flac".

Sickening, good thing I have to throw out my music collection, I'll just do things by hand in the future, but I always keep a giant copy of my obscure stuff that can't be located anymore or my own hundreds of rips.

Now using the CDDB and ripping your own albums works amazingly, why can't everyone else do such a thing?

Yea...too bad this program doesn't rename them based on the ID3 tags, it renames based on the acoustic ID
