I Respect this icon for making this move.

Looks very luc besson in style, yet seems to add an edge to a character in search of respect he will never get.

Could this possibly alter the way we see action dudes, and maybe even the way they are portrayed.
Will norris & seagal follow the deepness?

Do pornos get better with a storyline?

Read about this.
Van Damme is actually suppose to be terrific in it.Not afraid to show his warts.

Amazing what realizing one's mortality will do to a person.

is he still a huge cocaine addict?

yeah, i had seen the trailers before, and thought this movie to be potentially high entertaining.
thus, it takes a lot of guts to do such a "self portraying satirical" movie like this.

honestly, i do respect him for doing that.

JCVD's Agent "Listen Jean-Claude. They took someone else."

JCVD "Who?"

what does nuked mean again?

i got the 700mb version, it does not look dvd rip, more telecynk. but still very watchable.

Alien5
12-06-2008, 06:13 PM
it means it breaks one of the scene rules, bad crop, out of sync, bits missing, etc.

EDIT: i can't see anywhere that this is nuked.

Releaselog had it marked as nuked but they have since edited that out.

Incredinfuckable film btw.

Never thought that I would ever use the words poignant and Jean-Claude Van Damme in the same sentence but it certainly applies here.

If I was handing out Oscar nominations I would certainly give him one.

very deep & real film. a complete 180 from all his previous work. he briefly describes his life and tells how he sees ppl and how ppl see him. the trailer really did this film justice. all i knew was the trailer and then by watching the film made me enjoy it more.

thought they fucked JCVD over in the end though.

added to my collection. too bad though that JCVD turned down stallones new film, "the expendables." seems odd, but he stated, "i don't want my career to go down that route." damn same. would like to see JCVD hit the spotlight again.

very mild acton, but provides a great (documentary) story. 8/10

did anyone notice the contrast was really high, filmed with some kind of filter that makes him look younger.

The twats on a tracker I'm on gave it a 3 and called it crap.

I said it's okay to say you don't like it(French New Wave certainly isn't for everyone0 but it's not alright to call it crap.

Is it a perfect movie?.No, but parts border on brilliance and to see the actor inside JCVD alone is worth the price of admission.

Not to confuse anyone it's not a documentary.

no, i didn't mean it as such. to me it just gave off that feel in certain parts. probably wrong choice of words.

That was your contrast.

no, i mean a lot of movies look like they have been filmed in a dark room with a green or red tint to everything.

is that to stop the cammer people from getting a clear copy?

I work for a large movie theater and I have received hundreds of complaints that most of the large budget movies are being filmed to dark. Even in the theater you have to strain your eyes through half of the movie. You may notice the greenish tint also. I was told by a film rep said that they do this for several reasons, none of which are to make copying easier. So don't feel bad.

Finally saw it,
the only worthy part was his confession to the camera.
Concept of movie - 8/10
Realisation of concept - 3/10
Like the above said it was maybe too stylized, even with the very obvious outer and inner scenes which could have easily been combined.
The luc besson style underplayed the potential, Damme got used again.

Bravo.

Thanks upper, nice one

u can get the subs from
hxxp://www.nowsubtitles.com/movie/16229/jcvd+aka+project+j.c.v.d.+%28jean-claude+van+damme%29.html

extract the file ,, then change the file name to

nep-jcvd-xvid.srt

ive just converted it with this + it works great

the file name should be the same as the .avi file, except with .srt at the end.

then put the .srt in the same folder as the .avi then open the .avi.

here you go skweeky

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0k61WJXizw

"In a moment that literally takes you out of the movie (Van Damme is lifted off set by a crane mid-scene)
the iconic action star delivers an emotional monologue to the camera like a sinner seeking penance in a photo booth.
The experience is similar to watching a reality star bear their soul in one of those "privacy chambers" that the public eventually ends up seeing anyway.
It would be cynical to question Van Damme's sincerity, but he comes off more like a self-serving cry baby than a self-sacrificing artist."
