All i have been hearing lately about is this mysterious tracker called spotify.
If any member here is on that tracker and could tell me what exactly they have to offer it would be much appreciated.
It seems like this is the big rage now, if you don't have spotify you have nothing!

yea when i first installed it i immediately thought of itunes but it is very nice. those of us in the US/canada(not sure about other countries) need a proxy but its an easy workaround and then we can use our normal internet once we register. it buffers and plays flawlessly with no wait at all for me and they have a huge library of songs. as long as they can do it while staying away from too many ads and not forcing people to pay for it, it should work very nicely.

well, it looks nice and cool and everything, there are all of the songs you would wish to listen to, but at the end, the quality of the songs is what i miss most.

i don't know why but it's working pretty slow for me, not the songs but the loading of the songs. also it is always stuck every 10 seconds ( more or less ) and starts loading the rest of the song.

Maybe it's your cache size.

Use something like 2proxy.info

luckylittle
11-24-2008, 06:08 PM
You can just tell someone to sign you up and then you can connect from any IP.

Tokeman
11-24-2008, 07:06 PM
Or you can just use a webproxy to sign up, then connect like normal after sign up, as stated already in this thread a few times...

Click Ctrl+P to bring up the preferences then select how much cache you wish to use :)

So how is the quality of the songs? Most people seem to be satisfied, but I read a post elsewhere saying a person heard clipping or whatever on a few songs.

ogg q5 is used so if there are any problems, it's probably the source material.

btw
Most users agree -q 5 achieves transparency, if the source is the original or lossless. It is not transparent in the case of transcoding from lossy source (strongly frowned upon)
