Check out this theme, it's really, really nice. For a while now i'd been back to old Windows Classic, having got sick of the garishness, however slight, involved in most themes. Must say that this one "Plex Style 2 (http://themexp.org/view_info.php?comments=1&id=15440)" is a beauty. I'm using one of the classic themes and it's flawless. I very highly recommend it.

Ok, i'll stop gushing now :D

Here's a pic.

 OI.

Your meant to be admiring the pretty theme, never you mind the wallpaper

Joking mate. It's from Webshots (http://www.webshots.com/) and it's of Mitre Peak in New Zealand, AND i've been there. Tell you what my friend, go to New Zealand, it's an absolutely beautiful country- amazing.

Back to webshots though. It's a great app, uses no resources at all and includes no spyware or adware. I actually paid for the membership, about 13 quid, because you get high resolution wallpaper 1600 * 1200 compared with 800*600 with the free membership. Very highly recommended.

Now don't say i'm not good to you.

Here's a screengrab of Mitre Peak, a better shot in fact than the other one. Webshots saves in some encrypted format to protect their photos so the quality has been lost a little due to the screenshot, also there's an autohid task bar at the bottom that you might like to cut out.

Erm, you delete the theme file from your windows\resources\themes file. Having said that, you're talking rubbish, aren't you, a theme file wouldn't load if it was corrupt. Unless your computer is in a bitof a state that is.

I think you just want some attention.

Xelotath, your desktop is indeed a thing of beauty. Looks a bit too much like a spaceship for my liking though. ;)

You're saying that the site messed up your display?

Can you explain what you mean?

When i suggested your computer was in a bit of a mess, i was referring to it's operating system. I wasn't suggesting that it was going rusty, or that it was maybe strewn with rubbish

You do know that you need stylexp, or the uxtheme patch (which i recommend) (http://www.lightstar1.com/install.htm), to use these themes?

Looking at the download page i posted, that theme has been downloaded 90,000+ times. That suggests that the problem lies at your end somewhere.

:) Take care mate:)

I don't know mate. Probably best that you stick with stylexp if you're happy with it. The only advantage that the patch has, is that you select themes and visual styles through display properties, rather than an application which uses up system resources (though not much at all).

Don't know why this particular theme doesn't work for you though. :(

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Edit:- Whatever you do, don't install the patch over the top of stylexp. :)

If you have Style XP installed, you will not need ANY of the available patches. However if you have SP-1 installed on your system, then be certain that Style XP itself is updated to accommodate it.

I obtained both Plex styles from the Longhorn transformation package that Sharedholder listed a few days ago. The themes run fine; however the "theme" itself is something that I had to create myself by choosing the "visual style" option on StyleXP, then choosing which LH wallpaper I wanted by selecting it's option.
