if we altered a song thats against the law right so if it the riaa thats making the song screechy would be breaking the law also

the riaa represents the people who own the copyrights to the songs
they can do with them as they wish

That is an interesting point, but I think the RIAA has third parties do the screeching and I doubt the artists would mind, seeing it is done to help record sales.
