Next question does anyone know a cheap hosting company ?
I can suggest HostGator (http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml) for an inexpensive and reliable host. I've been with them for half a year hosting two websites and I haven't had a single problem. I can't say they're the absolute cheapest, but they're damn good. Their cheapest monthly plan is about $9.
Web Hosting Talk (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/) is a great place to research different hosts. I wouldn't rely on google for web hosting info.. when I was searching for mine, all I could find were paid reviews.

i'd definitely go for giga-hosting international. ;)
Anyone did make any experiences with sitevalley (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/www.sitevalley.com) ?
They seem pretty fair to me.

Helpful thread. I was thinking of opening a forum recently to learn a bit about php and hosting. Thanks for the links. :)

if you want to see how a tracker works, staff wise, install tbdev.
just did my first install, and i'm enjoying it so far.
makes one thing about opening his own site :D
I thought about installing gazelle just for fun but for now I´ll stick to the forum.
But one day ... :)
