Does your motherboard support ATA133 (its a faster connection, ATA133 = 133Mb/s instead of ATA100 = 100Mb/s)
That would be worth checking first, if you've got your motherboard manual.

Seek time is also important.

8ms compared to 8.9ms may not sound much, but it is actually a considerable improvement.

;) 60 GB for $90?Hell I got a Western Digital 80GB External for $99.

ADs in the Sunday Paper show you can get 120 GB Western Digital internal for $80 now.....160GB for $99.

Check your local Best Buy or Circuit City.....CompUSA if one is around you. :)

Well... I have just one question. Is the Western digital 8MB or 2MB buffer? In your post it shows 8 and 2.

At this point in time I wouldn't consider anything smaller than 80 GB. (Price/value ratio)

Listen to FC.

Wait a bit and scan the paper for sales.

I just got two WD ATA133 7200rpm 8MB cache 160 GB HDs for $99 each.

Of course I'll probably retire before the rebate checks arrive...

why not just partition your larger hdd into a 100gig drive, then the rest for windows, or whatever u want as windows size.
