I probably have to say Star Trek Next Generation. But if you count Red Dwarf then I'd say Red Dwarf.

Anyone seen Quantum Leap or Sliders?

I've heard those are supposed to be good.

Edit: Red Dwarf is pretty great, I love Rimmer

Yeah, lucky me, there are reruns on cable here!

They are good shows, even if the scifi part ( the "sliding" between worlds and "leaping" ) is only an excuse for placing the hero/heroes in different situations in every new episode...

I don't Know if Tales From the Crypt is sci-fi, although they used to run it on the sci-fi channel. I thought some of those episodes were pretty good. I can remember that episode when two guys are playing poker, and they start losing body parts. Now that is entertainment. And Futurama kicks ass!

Babylon 5 (the best writing of any sci-fi show out there OR EVER MADE(very epic)
Crusade
Farscape (excellent)
Stargate SG-1 (excellent)
Star Trek TNG
Star Trek TOS
Star Trek DS9
Star Trek VYGR
Greatest American Hero
Futurama
X-Files (excellent)
Millenium
Outer Limits (current)(I love bad endings and this show has alot of 'em)
Battlestar Galactica
Buck Rogers In The 25th Century
Alien Nation
Brimstone (creepy shit)
Odyssey 5
Earth 2
Space Above and Beyond (excellent)
Invisible Man
Knight Rider (excellent)
Automan
Total Recall 2070 (barely related to the movie though)
Manimal
Prey
Dark Skies
Witchblade
Now and Again
Six Million Dolar Man
Bionic Woman
Sliders (excellent)
Taken
Powers Of Mathew Star
Misfits Of Science
G vs E
V
Quantum Leap

Andromeda is total shit. I may as well watch Xena or Lost World. It's too hokey like its made for small kids or something.
I really wish they would make a Babylon 6 or something. I didn't even watch it when it came on TV. I watched all 5 seasons and the movies on dl's. This amazing show was like one big fat epic. It makes Star Trek look like shit. Joe was originally supposed to write for DS9 but Berman and Bragga wouldn't give up control so left and did Babylon 5. That's why they were out near the same time. Unfortunately I watched DS9 because I was familiar with Star Trek universe and the on seeing glimpses of B5 the aliens looked to funny. Boy did I miss out back then.

One reason why I like Andromeda:

http://www.chinkii.com/uploads/album/ladies/Lexa%20Doig%206.jpg

And also, I don't think it works if you take it too seriously, it's like Original Star Trek, neither William Shatner nor the guy who played Bones could act, every episode was an orgy of overacting, that's what made it so good.

".....RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOG-FACED BOY" etc.

But Andromeda also gets better, pretty much with each episode when it comes to the acting, as the actors come into their own, possibly with the the exception of the guy who plays Tyr, strangely enough he's the most serious actor, I think he tries to adopt some sort of Shakespearian quality but fails somehow, possibly because he's a damn poser, sort of like Shatner.

Edit: I've found a site that imports Andromeda DVD-season-boxes I'm going to become sooo poor. :D HAPPY now.

Babylon 5 is by a long long way the best Sci Fi show ever written. Massive arc plots that are central themes (as opposed to crutches for the moral dilemma issues that Star Trek loves) spanning five series. It had simply never been done before- comparable to the impact Lord of the Rings had on fantasy, it set a new standard. Which hasn't been lived up to as of yet. Slow to start off with, the momentum builds and you get sucked right in. Absolutely brilliant.

Other worthy mentions for me are:

X Files
Dark Skies
Brimstone (but not sure if that counts as Sci Fi)
V
Star Trek: The Next Generation (despite what I said above, still pretty good)
Star Trek: Voyager

And if The X Files floats your boat, then check this out:

http.//www.disclosureproject.com

and download the press conference. It's fairly big (70Mb) but well worth a look. I subscribed on the strength of it, and haven't been disappointed. Mulder could have saved himself a lot of grief if he'd just gone to see Dr. Greer. And they do say truth is stranger than fiction.

Too many good shows get cancelled because the tv executives (especially in America) decide that they are too intelligent or too deep for the viewers, Brimstone and American Gothic being good examples. Both great shows, but need a degree of brainpower, so cancel them and make another series of drivel instead that hits you over the head with 2 dimensional "plots".

Bastards. :flame: :swear:

Damn Rhydian, you and I have the exact same tastes. Why the fuck haven't they done a Babylon 6 or something. I dl'd every episode and watched them but they didn't lose any money on me; I still bought the seasons on DVD. I can't wait to finish the collections and I hope they bring the other movies out on DVD. I'll even buy Crusade. They need to finish that too. Remember the Apocalypse Box? That was some shit that never truly got explored.
I even watched creepy ass Brimstone and American Gothic (with Gary Cole as the Devil).

(You ever notice in those Star Wars vs Star Trek vs B5 shorts that B5 always wins?)

First Wave's last season had former porn star Traci (poutty lips) Lords. She was a good ally but an even worse villain.

Use to like Star Trek but Voyager and Enterprise are just crap.

Just downloaded and watched the last season of Farscape, has to be the best Sci-fi program in ages even better the babylon.
But what pissed me off was that they cancelled the show and the series end wasnt even an end and was ment to be a lead into season 5.
Fucking stupid network executives.

Anyway there suppose to be a farscape four hour mini series, filiming is suppose to start in December pity it's not a new season. :( :)

Does anyone remember Automan?
He had a neon blue and black Countach that made 90 degree turns.

Or Greatest American Hero?
He was a Superman like hero that could fly fine but landing was shit.

Or The Six Million Dollar Man or Bionic Woman?
They had super speed but the special effects were shit back then so they showed them moving slowly to simulate the quickness.

I can see all the greats ....

Babylon 5 (The Best ever!!!)
Crusade (I want to know the ending! And I liked Max Eilerson)
SG1 (even if it has become rather boring apart from last week's the race ep)
ST DS9 (only ST ever worth watching!)
Odyssee 5 (too intelligent for the average viewing public, so it was axed  )
Red Dwarf (the best sci fi comedy ever!)
V (despite being old)
Earth 2 (had some good moments)

BUT there are some MISSING here :'(

Firefly!!! (why does nobody mention that one? I absolutely LOVE it!)
Jeremiah!! (even if it does star Luke Perry, it's still pretty good!)

Check them out, chances are, you'll like them! :D
