you could give him the server adress while you are at it...

What for? He says he doesn't know how to use IRC, thus, the direct link.

If he felt he needed it, it's in the link and also appears on the IRC page after clicking it.

Old bump.

I just got the message as well. It means you need to reset your password. Hit the recovery password link on the login page and reset your password. ;)

guess the server has been taken offline for some improvement although the last two site news didnt mention down times but some further coding needs doing.

Hmm, yes it seems a bit faster now, but the security certificate is what makes the site slower than others, but that's normal

 I was thinking the same. Anyway, I'm glad my account wasn't hacked and I'm not suffering from Alzheimer Disease.

I just thought I'd point this out: You guys know you'll be getting PMs now? Since it's known now that all of you are FTN members.

I guess you decided to take that chance.

getting PM's doesn't mean people will invite someone.
It's mighty hard to get hold of an invite at FTN.

Well, I know but, surely you don't like your PM inbox getting spammed, do you?

There is a chance that your password might not be working. You can change your password on your profile.

If your old password doesn't work, you must try to recover your password. Like mentioned in the previous news post, use FTN URL/recover.php to recover your password.

If the URL in the recovery email didn't work, clean all your cookies and try.

If you are having any issues with recovering your password, send a staff PM or better join #ftn-support. We can serve you better in the irc.

Please check with your inviters, invitees and other member friends and if anyone is locked out, pass them these details.

We also request all members to be patient. Thanks.

//. Staff

P.S. E-mails are case-sensitive. To recover successfully, you must enter the exact email with the correct matching case, as registered in the site.

hope that helps. :)

i agree it's not the most pleasant thing, but honestly it makes (to me) no difference at all.
Besides, it's funny to see some dupe accounts immediately popping up on my PM box offering for trades to try to show i would be accepting a trade
It's mighty funny, but ridiculous. kiddies for the phun.

It is rather amusing when someone lets it slip that so&so has an ftn to give...you'd be amazed at all the 'friends' you suddenly have.
Happened to me the first time I got an invite...needless to say, now I keep my mouth shut until I find a worthy user and/or ask some trusted friends if they have a recommendation. Otherwise it's PMs from users I've never seen nor heard of using a whole myriad of tactics/ploys as to why I should invite a total stranger.
