Seedhost is a great and legit reseller of Ovh servers, I cant recall a single complaint about them here, and I have read the seedbox discussion section almost daily since it got here.

Well after reading your other topic I would say avoid GreatSeedbox. You can read about them a couple topics down.

I can't access (address not found) Seedhost.net right now. I assume you are just looking for a shared box? I have a RPS from SeedPlace right now (it even has OS/root access!) and it's practically the same price as a shared plan from other places. Dedicated 100mbit just to yourself, the downside is that you are really limited on HDD space (you choose how much you want depending on how much you are willing to pay).

I also have had SeedX (gone now), SeedLayer (gone now) and SeedCafe (decent speeds that seemed capped tho, great support) and a couple others I can't remember the names :P

Ichigo i believe that he wants to know if they are scam sites or not actually. And not from the "promotion noobie users"

Yea, he says he wants something cheap tho so I assume he's looking for a shared plan. Just giving my 2 cents from what I've seen personally :)

SeedPlace will always have RPS available, they are just resellers for them. But yea their shared seedbox plans are not available.

Seedx and Seedlayer are gone ie shutdown. SeedX wasn't bad but SeedLayer was complete garbage

i see, RPS isnt bad but once you add an normal amount of HDD your in for paying 3-4 times the price of a shared box.

Yea, it's quite the downside if you want to get some big stuff like ISO etc. Unlimited torrents and no sharing speeds sold me tho

Ok, and how are the speeds though?
And is 512 MB problematic, i know its not terrible if you dont have a microsiht OS but still..?

I've just hit the 1TB now after a week of being a customer there. I did 10mb/s on BitHQ although it was brief.

RAM isn't too bad, I only use half of it according to Ubuntu task manager.

Just a warning tho, make sure to compile wine yourself (if you plan on using utorrent). When I did apt-get from their repository it gave me a version of wine that has a critical utorrent bug which would disconnect peers if you seeded to them faster than around 1MB/s. It was hard to cap out speeds because of this. If I would have known this the first couple days I would have uploaded a lot more than 1TB :P

i just used the guide which says:
# wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/387EE263.gpg
# apt-key add 387EE263.gpg
# wget http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt/sources.list.d/hardy.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/winehq.list

@WEEDEN:
im pretty sure RPS is in fact root axx

will that work right?

I followed this guide on their site, worked great:

i tired using the guide in this section.
hope i didnt do too much damaege, got half way thorough, a bunch of stuff didnt work
cuz theres no root axx.
gave up and logged on with NX client that the email suggested, was a bit easier.

so far DL speeds are good (5-9MBS), upload speeds, not sa good (2-200KBS)
but ill give it some time.

Pretty bad, although it's peer dependent. If you just want to test speeds grab a public torrent with lots of peers. I just did a sshot from a public anime torrent:

Make sure wine version is 1.1.11 too.

Oh yea, since RPS uses hard drives not on the system make sure your cache settings are set up good. Here's what I use

http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/9093/65785678io6.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

You could increase it from 128, but remember cache=ram and we only have 512 of it. I also use 1000/300/25 connections so try that too.

I can confirm greatseedbox.info is legit.

My review about them is here: http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/p-greatseedboxinfo--post3075026/postcount32

According to people on FST looks like seedhost.net is legit too, but they copied the name of seedhost.eu lol

UKfilesite is also a legit service, have used them before, but too expensive now, since I am going to college very soon.. sigh..

-Thanks

nbo there is root access. If you google you'll see that ubuntu doesn't come with root access enabled. You should know that.
But now that you canceled your paypal payment you won't be able to see that again.. Sorry. But i don't like customers like you that create disputes at paypal.

If you had created a support ticket i could help you with anything you want. But you never did.

I surely did NOT canel the payment, I don't even know how to. In fact I just created a ticket mentioning that the server does not work.

I did receive an email from Paypal support 8 hours ago about a third party trying to access my account therefore it automatically limited my account so sensitive information can not be obtained from a 3rd party. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with a payment being canceled but I can assure you I did not try to cancel a thing.

I did, there is no information in my account about anything. There isn't any history info or funds info either, my account is also now under the status of "Unverified", only very basic information is left (name, address..).
I just emailed support to see if I can find out why all of this is happening.

UPDATE: ok now i got in and I see it, I will try to take care of this now.
