I'm looking for older animes (trigun/tenchi muyo/outlaw star/8th ms gundam) etc what is best to find them?

IRC/DC++/Torrents/FTP/Usenet/Edonkey?
and what are some trackers where I could find older animes?

I don't know of trackers that specialize in anime, as I'm not an anime fan, but I think TV Vault might have some older/classic stuff. You might also try Cinemageddon (mainly cult, genre and "bad" movies, I'm sure they have some anime) and Karagarga (mainly indie, arthouse, foreign and non-mainstream movies, so some anime probably in there too).

boxtorrents specializes in anime and has everything you've listed.

If you want to watch anime via streaming video you can go to anime-media.com. Hope this helps.

If you are looking for something you can't find on a torrent site, you can use animenfo (http://www.animenfo.com/) and their edonkey downloaded links as a last resort. They have a wide selection but its slow as hell.

*edit*

Another good method is to use animenfo to find the links to the subbing groups who released the anime and then download it there (most sub groups have either their own tracker or irc bot to download from)

+1 for boxtorrents. Easy to seed, usually open for sign ups. I can't say about old animes, cause I don't know how old you want them to be. 10-15 years old are all there (animes I mean lol).

also +1 for boxctorrents, especially now becausse they are freeleeching.

As for old animes, you should watch the older works of Hayao Miyazaki, movies like Castle in the Sky, My neighbour Totoro etc. Those are classic.

Great thread. I especially appreciate the recommendation for anime-media.com. I hadn't known that one, but boxtorrents is probably the best anime site.
