how does requesting work on newsgroups?

I'm looking for older animes and if I make a request well do i have any hope of it getting filled? Or is newsgroups just one big cluster fuck where people don't even look at the requests?

Well there are a number of ways..

http://www.alt-bin.com/index.php has some info on it..

#altbin on efnet has a nice -search -req function....

if you know of the groups where to look for similar stuff you can always post a request there.. Will it get filled? That depends on if it's around and they feel like it.
