I would like to know how many of you have in real life friends interested in BT world? And also when you have invites to trackers do you give the invites to them( RL friends)? Or to other 'strangers' from FST for example.

Personally I have 2 good friends which know a little bit about this world of trackers but they don't have too much knowledge of it. When I have invites first I try to help my RL friends and after the 'strangers' (virtual friends) on the Internet.

I've got a few Rl friends that are on private trackers but for the most part they don't give a shit enough to warrant me to give them invites to most trackers. For the most part i'd choose my e-friends over them when it comes to torrenting.

Is a disaster for some. My best friend went to Computer school-graphic design, taught me BT-public sites only. I took it more serious and researced private trackers while he was using isohunt-Tpb-ect.
Invited my best friend to a tracker and he gets a warning after i was schooled him on what not to and what to do on private trackers. Can cause conflict sometimes. Can be frustrating as they do not take it as serious as some of us do...

I don't trust most of my friends to give an invite . The older ones yes but not the youngster's. Workmates I'll give them to as I can shame them into keeping a good ratio . :D

Out of about 5 RL mates I've introduced to the private tracker scene only 1 has managed to survive to this day.

Out of numerous E-Mates I've introduced to private trackers only a couple of bad apples have failed to make the grade.

So in my opinion E-Mates make the best people to bring into these communities

Just you wait until they spend a couple of days downloading a multi-gig PC game only to discover that it's actually German Midget Porn and they'll be beggin you for an invite somewhere, unless they're into that sort of thing lol

i have 4 of my friends that are very much into this private tracker scene.
they just started seeing how i could get my hands in the goodies so fast, and wanted to know more.
a couple of them were already torrenting back from the days of suprnova, so it was just actually teaching them the concept of "keeping a good ratio".
They all started via TB and FL, when they were open signups. and they showed up they could keep a ratio. so i started sending them invites. They all have very different tastes: one is an addict to elearning stuff and porn :D , the other one HD movies, the other one Xbox gaming, etc etc. so i suited them the best i could.

now, none of them ever turns off their pc for seeding, even when they are in the jobs, they remote to their PC to check the goodies.

I have a best friend who I had invited to a tracker. His account lasted for 2 weeks, and then got disabled for being "inactive".

"Ooohh, so you have to actually download and post to be considered active!"

Needless to say, I've given up on him for the moment :)

I have two really IRL friends that are really good users, to the point where they actually provide content themselves. One of them already did regular uploads on Demonoid, when I started inviting him to places, so all I had to teach him was how to do quality rips.

A few others ranging from good to inactive. One was quite active on TTi but then forgot to ask staff to park the account when he went on vacation. He got deleted and is now quite pissed off at anything private, since he feels he was active and got a good buffer for nothing.

One is so scared of ratio, that he wants to stick to Demonoid only. He has like 5.0 ratio there, but still thinks he won't be able to seed on really private sites.

Well in the most part ,we're all lucky as we have good friends . Best horror show is when I gave my ex-wife an invite and she was brutal .

Started out I gave her a few movies and she sold them , 10 bucks each . To me that just seemed wrong . Asked the site to please ban her ... I look bad . Nope left me out to dry and learn t my lesson .

Live and learn I guess but still bugs me .

They are not reliable for certain sites. You can trust them in other ways but when it comes to logging in to a site-following all rules. Some real life friends will disappoint you. Is a shame..Most think frost is the best thing online. Give them a demonoid at best if it is a first time bt member. All i can say. Then maybe a IPT if they do well?

Some of my friends download from emule or limewire. I imagine that none of them should have some notion of torrenting.

Like someone said before, they are not trusted to be invited to a top tracker... not by me. I don't wanna be banned and also lose a friend

You don't have to invite them to top level trackers. They can start with something practical like IPtorrents and then move up to trackers which require more responsibility. I'd give them about 3 weeks tops to get used to the ratio system and rules, then after that you don't have to worry.

Before that better start with TPB, cause they have to learn what is a "torrent"

Anyway, I did not feel much enthusiasm from them to learn

I usually star mt friends off on IPT to see how they do then if the do fine and want a better 0-day i give them some of my other invites. i dont like to give out invites to anyone i dont trust will use the account properly, be it rl or il friends

I invited my mom to tvtorrents.com. Apparently her ISP had accidently un-capped her connection, and from home she uploaded over 500gb in a couple of days.

Her ISP threatened to disconnect her, so she left the bittorrent world behind.
