I see Playstation 3 games released regularly on Ludibria and ABGX but I've never actually seen one shared anywhere. Are these shared in any places other than top FTP sites? Are there any trackers that specialise in PS3 releases? I know it's pretty much useless to dl these now because of the copy protection, but I was just wondering if anyone has the access, hard disk space and bandwidth to keep an archive of these.

Had a look for you buddy and am afraid the answer at the minute is a disappointing no :(

Just invest 40 bucks in Call Of Duty 5: World at War, jump online with it and that'll keep you amused for a good couple of months, hopefully by then the answer might have changed but I wouldn't hold your breath :)

people have successfully launched backups on PS3s yeah, but i don't think a lot of sites race ps3 releases since they won't get many snatches.

I think it was only specific developer PS3s that could launch the backups. Torrentleech has/had a couple but your best bet is public sites or newsgroups.

BCG has some games for PS3...

PS3 has already been hacked by some Brazilians, but they had to install linux on it. They successfully made backups. But it only works in the 60GB version.

PS3 is still unlocked, so probably there's no special tracker.

The PS3 has not been hacked yet at all. If you want the latest news from the people that are currently trying to crack the PS3 then go to www.ps3news.com (http://www.ps3news.com)

Look at the right of the page and you will see PlayStation 3 News Discussions (http://www.ps3news.com/forums/)

This the current developers log of sorts for the project to hack the PS3

RevTT got a file which will aparently let you perform a swap disc trick but it only works for original games right now pointless you may think, but I've got a feeling this might be the way forward for PS3 back ups

Once it is hacked then the race will be on.

hmm hacking a console worth that much money ... no thanks.. some people either earn far too much or are just crazy lol .. i refused to flash my 360 for years (although that could have been because i just borrowed games and taking my giving them back instead of buying um lol)

but seriously though .. so many of these hackers are using linux to overwrite the current firmware .. would it not be easier just to build a sort of custom console that will play the games.. they can make the OS and drivers ect to run on the games and hardware .. so all it leaves is the physical hardware itself .. surely you could find something just as good or better than the ps3 hardware to make ur own console that will play the games (doubt ud find ps3 replacement hardware readily available).. gotta be a cheaper way too i would have thought lol

but then again i kno about as much about consoles and hacking them and the different hardware they use as i do about quantum mechanics and the derivation of quantization .. whatever that is :)

somehow it's pointless until blu-ray disk are so expensive. the cost is the reason why they haven't done it yet

once blu-ray disks go down in price there will probably be a much larger interest making the Ps3 play backups will increase too.

The whole goal is to not use Blu-ray disks. They want to eventually just play game backups straight off a harddrive

But surely its the same as most things.

The more people that buy the writers and the media, the cheaper the writers and the media get, so if the PS3 gets hacked, to play Blu-Ray, PS3 sales will be comparable to 360 and Wii all of a sudden, and the writers and medi will plummet, as more will be buying them.

I know you have Blu-Ray Movies, but who in their right mind will pay £100+ and then £5+ for a blank, to copy a £10 movie, which you can get as an MKV anyway which fits on a DVD-DL. Movies even HD ones you can watch, without burning at all, Backup PS3 games, you can only play on the PS3.

But saying that, it has not been modded yet, and the interest in the games is minuscule at best, hence why you never see them anyway, Usenet used to get them, but i stopped looking about a year ago.
